I just set up the phone service on my IPAQ 6315.  Many times when I use the Bluetooth (GPS and Ear Piece) or WI-Fi the phone will freeze and the light will be a steady orange.  Many times the green light will be flashing but when a call is attempted, a message will say operation failed, then it will say missing or invalid SIM's card.  I have to soft reset 2-3 times before the phone begins working normally again.  Many times it works fine.  I concacted HP and their only soultion was to try a hard reset.  Avoiding that soultion.

my partner has the same phone and it only happened very very little chance. But he doesn't/hasn't use Bluetooth headset or WIFI a lot. My guess is that, the Bluetooth and WIFI stacks probably hung the system up as i have experienced that with my imate smartphone2 when using Bluetooth quite a bit.

I would also check if there is enough memory avaialble in the system. I recommend using MagicButton to actually close programs when not in use, thus saving memory. And I would also try and have all programs installed on a SD card instead of using the main memory.

If you browse the Internet a lot with your Pocket PC, it's a good idea to delete the Internet Explorer cache every few days. This can be done by going through Options and finding the [Delete Files] button.

Thanks for all the info.  Finally found the problem.  The lock on the SIM’s card retainer was broken and wouldn’t lock down.  Fixed the lock and the problem went away.

An interesting piece of hardware to break! But good to know, and add to the list of things to check in the future.

Thanks!
