Finch: Can somebody please talk me into going from a SGS3-Lumia 920 (Most likely)? I want to try a new OS and im loving the look of the Lumia 920. I mainly use my SGS3 for Camera/Video (occassionally), mobile gaming, twitter, txt and viewing movies. Im happy with my SGS3 but thinking of trying something new. I dont have an Xbox, or Windows 8 PC.
I found this article so this is good for me as I enjoy mobile gaming.

22nd november from some reliable sources
bspain: I suggest you play with a Windows 8 phone before making the switch. Its a very different beast to android and if your android does not piss you off with enough with of the many issues it has then you may be safer to stay where you are until you've had a good play to determine for yourself what is right for you.
Windows Phone is not as versatile in terms of customization and capabilities, much like the iphone, but it makes up for it by working properley and intuitively and unlike the iphone you get some choice in design/style/hardware and also a bunch of OS features which iphone doesnt have.
In the last 18 months I've had Android (still do), iPhone and Windows Phone. Windows was the cheapest phone out of all of them and in my experience was the best for me. Android just frustrates me to no end with all of the bugs/issues and things that dont work how you would expect them to or how other phones do. You're always having to modify it to try and get things to work right or the way you want it to and the phone never seems completely sorted. Small consolation is I guess at least you can modify it dramatically, but you shouldnt have to. So now I just use it as a music player, and it doesnt even do that well. If my WP had SD card or 64GB or storage I would never use the android, hence why I will be upgrading to a WP8 and never looking back.
Windows Phone may not be for everyone, but I've never heard anyone come up with a reason to mock it. It is a phone that can compete with the rest, and while no phone is perfect, Windows Phone for me shines above the rest.

A time-poor geek is hardly a geek at all
compost: Style is subjective, but when I look at Google Play and Android widgets, they remind me of all those countless blogs whose authors decided that Comic Sans would be a cool font to use. There's something tasteless - and often juvenile - about the Google look, which I would argue stems all the way from the search page.
And while Steve Jobs may have worn a black polo neck, he actually should have been kitted out in Delia Smith's apron because the aesthetic of iOS with its acres of wood panelling is closer to 80s kitchen cabinetry than the clean modern lines you'd expect in a premium product.
So if you want a piece of pure modernism in your day, WP8 should be your choice.

Telecom, I know yes will be black only from what I have been told. Don't know about Vodafone or 2degrees color availability. Saying that, I remember with Nokia Lumia 800, Vodafone bought in the white colour after couple of months so they very well might expand the colour availability later on.

Isn't the 920 going to be Telecom exclusive? So if we want a colour other than black, the only option is an importer?
