Starplay: Someone told me that the battery is not user replaceable... Seems a bit odd as all previous Nokia's had replaceable batteries... Just wondering if someone could clear that up?

This is correct. To keep with the design aesthetics the battery is non user replaceable.

Hasn't posed a problem for me at all :)

You can replace it yourself but opening the case would void the warranty (after 3 years that is not applicable anyway

The N8 uses a standard BL-4D battery and is actually easy to access if you know how (Google can tell you in a second). Just bear in mind that replacing the battery yourself will void the warranty ... because of this we have extended the warranty on the battery included in the N8 to the same length as the phone: 12 months.

This would usually be best in a new thread, however: this is probably because it is already syncing or installing support software in the background. Try restarting both the phone and the computer if nothing else works; this should clear it up.

Thanx for the info.  By the way .  I do rather like the N8.   It's on my short list of preferred fones..

Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard : check
Kensington Bluetooth Mouse : check

nice to see a cursor come up when mouse active, very nice.

Default sync failed, that's good I can now run back-up, how do I de-select backup of his exchange server contents (I need to do this so I can clear his phone and test with a self-signed certificate)?

mouse pass (a cursor appears when mouse present)

Conversation thread pass (SMS only, not unified)
Copy paste to maps pass (ctrl-x, c & v work on the keyboard)

Panorama fail

Tests still to be performed

Self signed certificate
WiFi accesspoint
Hotmail
Vibrate and ring
Dial-up auto authorise
Geotag
Photo email to facebook
Remote erase

There is a free Panorama app by Nokia on the Ovi Store which uses the same system as on our other camera-centrist phones ... in fact, I find it to be even superior.
