Just bought a n9g 8gig. Camera is amazing these phones are cool. Just wondering it seems a bit slow getting into the text messaging and camera takes about 3 seconds to start up. Is this normal? Also anyone know how to get auckland maps and good games as well? Help appreciated as always

Believe me 3 seconds is fast! Compared to all my other phones my 8gb boots the camera up in about 3 too, while any of my others would take 5-7seconds. The nokia maps suck, there is not very much detail and hardly any streetnames but you can get bettr maps from third party.

I believe that IVCM2 (Interactive Voice Call Manager) has this feature, amongst a host of others.

Congratulations on your purchase!

The maps thread here has some Auckland maps for a couple of different programs, or there is Google Maps if you have any kind of a decent data plan (? not even sure if such a thing exists in NZ).

Regarding games there are plenty of places to get them, try Handango for starters. Can't help you if you're after warez, but I'm sure they're not hard to find.

Great news, I can't wait to update the firmware!

A question though and not sure if anyone else has noticed this problem too. When I open NSU, it would just freeze on the start screen and then crash. It only happens if I have Norton installed. McAfee works fine with NSU. How can I overcome this? Thanks.

PS - Vista or XP, same result.

What ver NSU are you using? I have 1.4.14 and its working fine under Vista.
Sadly, I downloaded and installed NSS to change the product code and it wont work, whole screen is greyed out, anyone else experienced this?

I have downloaded the latest version of NSU.  Tried it on Vista and XP with Norton - stuck on the intro screen while it says it is "loading".  I never had problems before using it with McAfee.  Next year I will switch back to McAfee.

Sorted the NSS prob, downloaded the latest ersion. To get the new version of the firmware you will need to change the product code. This firmware has increased my RAM to nearly 30mb!

Yay I found a way to get my NSU to work - went into Norton firewall settings and "allow"-ed the program through the firewall.

I am updating my phone right now.  Hopefully it stablises the phone software:)
