That is not a model available in New Zealand. The New Zealand model sold by Telecom is the LG C900K, very different specifications, including keyboard. And it does get the Windows Phone 7.8 update.

That's tomorrow... so that's by end of Friday or beginning of Friday? If latter, that's only few hours before Friday is here. ;-)

Nathan,

That is good news. I hope that for future updates Microsoft improves the communication process. Especially after LG indicated that the previously mentioned model wasn't going to be supported, it was very unclear whether which models would be supported and when updates would be available. I would hope that over time it can be improved to the quality and simplicity of windows update which works very well.

Stefan

I plugged my imported Lumia 800 into my MacBook last night, and it told me that there were updates available

Several updates later, I have the 7.8 update. Just in time for nathan's Friday timeline :)

Just plugged wife's device to Windows Phone 7 Connector (Mac OS X). It gave an error when checking for update. Then I found out the connector relies on the phone data (mobile or WiFi) for checking, so I turned on WiFi and it says there's an update. Running it now.

On another note tried to install the latest Windows Phone 7 Connector update and was told the new version won't run on Mac OS X 10.6.8... Lucky I had the old version installed before or wouldn't have a machine to install updates.

Done. Six updates installed. Why didn't Zune offer any of the old updates before (when I had it connected to Zune on my laptop before installing Windows 8) is a mystery.

If it helps, I'm using a Vodafone NZ HTC Trophy bought in October 2010 that's been running 7.8 for a couple of months now

Did you update using the seveneight tool or some network trickery? or just Zune and update?
