freitasm: I have contacted THREE people from this discussion and selected TWO for the Nokia Lumia 920 reviews on TelecomTech.

Later this week I will be looking for another TWO reviewers for another model, and later on another TWO for another device (not Windows Phone).

Been using an HTC 8X that I managed to get my hands on to replace my dropped HTC One X and must say I am very impressed.

I had been using iOS and Android for the last 3 years, but honestly can say I see myself sticking with Windows Phone moving forward. Never thought I would say that!

The 8X is amazing. Aside from the Camera in the Lumia 920 I personally the 8X on a par or better in almost every way.

Got all my exchange and gmail working a treat. Easy!
Got all my key apps installed!

Pros:

Build quality is amazing.
The phone looks stunning and feels light and small in the hand. (I got the Blue one)
The screen is awesome. (not sure what the fuss about it "only" being 4.3" is for??).
The audio quality as a music device is perfect.
Super fast interface.
Reception is great. Dropped calls at my parents place on the 1X, not a single drop out on the 8X.
Battery life is great. Double my OneX. Been off the charger for 22 hours and tells me it estimates 18 hours left. This is with 3G and Wifi active with Viber and Skype running. Using ASB and news apps.. Plus normal texts and calls.
The 2.1MP front facing camera is great.
Very accurate (and fast) GPS.

Cons:

No SD expansion? Come on.. that is a bit stupid.
Speaker phone output a bit on the low side.
No smart dialing?? Is this a windows thing?
No turn-by-turn navigation? (big plus to Nokia, their apps are 2nd to none)
All my text messages are dated a day in the future?

When I was looking I ruled out the 920 as it felt to bulky. Really really liked the 820 but the screen (which to me is so important) just does not cut the mustard vs. the high res of the 8X (and 920).

If you are looking to go WP8 I say do it! The HTC 8X and Lumia 920 are great ambassadors for the platform.

So here I am with a HTC 8X and very happy.

Got to fix my One X and sell it if someone wants a bargain! haha

I've been told that there are less than 200 920s nationwide. Most have been held for online sales. Willis St had 3 phones and Lambton Quay only had 2. Best bet would be to order the phone online.

Is that from a shortage in supply? Or an expected shortage in demand? Or so they can say next week, "our entire stock sold out in a couple of days!"

There is very little stock available anywhere, worldwide. Whether that is deliberate artificial scarcity, or they didn't produce enough for fear that they wouldn't sell, or some other reason, we can only guess at.

One guy in the TNZ store this morning was pretty angry at staff re availability of the phone... At least he and another both patted me on the back on the way out and said "enjoy your phone".... Can't believe the lack of availability though....

Also, make sure you take down the info from the website and compare it to your contract. TNZ website says 800 minutes and 24month Warranty on the Smartphone $139 Plan. When the guy in the shop printed my contract/invoice this morning, it had 700 minutes and 12 months warranty. To be fair to him though, he said he would fix the problem.
