Ingram Micro is sold out. So is Exeed.

Harvey Norman is said to be returning all stock to HP (Ingram Micro), so there may be some hope of getting some directly from IM tomorrow morning.

I reserved 4 tablets (one for myself and other guys at work) with Noel Leeming yesterday (Sylvia Park). Queued up in the Morning today, first in line. Guy comes up, 'did you book the 4 tablets? I said yes. He said employeed bought them. I said 'area manager's number please'.

Left a voicemail, got a call back half an hour later. One of the employees at Sylvia park went back to his house and returned the brand new tablet which was then handed over to me. Recieved the official HP touchpad bag for free and the touchstone docking station for $39.50. They could not get me the other three.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Employee perks taken a little bit too far.

I understand employees having the right to buy as well, but they should at least split the stock in half between employees and non-employees.

Just rang JB Hi-Fi (Westgate) and was told that their Head Office has informed them to not sell any of their stock, as at this stage they will be sending them all back to HP. May be worth keeping an eye on that though.

It's kind of amusing that the Touchpad has become popular now that HP have decided to scrap it. Perhaps dropping the price to increase market share (even at a loss) could've been a viable strategy.

Well isn't what M$ and Sony do with their game consoles? Sale at loss but recoup later

Just got confirmation that my Amazon order of 2x32GB is in. So it's just a matter of time now, unless Acquire also confirms it.

Yeah I think that may have some merit. Having the user base of WebOS gone up a lot in the last 2 days there will be a lot more demand for apps etc now. Seeing as they seem to be continuing on with WebOS development it may be enough to get their foot in the door against the massive market share of apple.

Perhaps this was all a marketing ploy?

Possible but if that was the case I doubt we would have seen a price drop outside the US.

Very unlikely. 20% drop in stock price is almost a seppuku.
