rayonline: How is the reception, is it based on the SIRF III chipset and how does it compare to dedicated GPS units?
Possible to download and upload routes into the device from a computer and to the computer after a trip to plot them out on a graph, does it have a USB cable to be connected to a digital SLR and record GPS data?
For the maps, pple keep saying its free, usually for GPS devices the base map is free and the country you bought it from has that map in it. If I take it overseas and need it for like walking and driving street / street, do I need to pay more for a indepth map or are those also available for free?
I believe that the "Made in Finland" Nokia's are of a better build quality compared to the "made in asia" Nokia's. I have a parallel imported Nokia 6260 and the build quality is terrible. I believe that it was made in asia. It still works even though it is very worn. I havn't treated it any differently than any of my other phones but the screen has a lot (and I mean alot) of dust behind it, the sliver colouring has worn of the side volume buttons, the coffee colouring of the phone has come off on some parts of the phone. All of my previous phones, after this period of time, has been in very good condition.
So if I was going to have a choice on where it was made, then I would buy a made in Finland Nokia N95, especially if I was going to spend this much money on this phone. I would certainlly be annoyed if my Nokia N95 was of this kind of bad build quality and I would also be put off buying another Nokia.
I also like the fact the Nokia's are one of the only phones that are not made in asia these days.
