I have to say, after looking at the images and small reviews on The Verge and Engadget..... I DON'T LIKE THE 928..looks cheap.

Ha, if the Catwalk is nothing to sneeze at on the 14th, then I'm flingin myself at the 920 like a kid to a Mr Whippy icecream van!

nuff said.

Guess the 928 will be dead in the water now that the 925 is here?

motorwayne: I reckon this phone with come out unlocked non Verizon as well. I'll be grabbing one for sure.

yes it probably will come out wider than just VZW

for now though its exclusive but i don't believe its carrier locked to them. Not the right LTE bands for NZ though, LTE Category 3 device; it contains two LTE bands, namely LTE750 (band 13) and LTE1700/2100 (band 4

this is actually a world mode phone with both CDMA & GSM chips

the 928 supported WCDMA/HSPA/UMTS bands are 850/900/1900/2100MHz (from the user manual). This phone will work just about anywhere at 3G speeds except areas and providers that use 1700MHz (USA [T-Mobile], Canada, Chile).

This is a 1 x RTT Ev-Do RevA device.

the FCC filing says, but you'd want to verify this before purchasing

Outside of USA and Canada, the transmitter of the device is capable of operating also in GSM/GPRS/EGPRS900, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS1800, WCDMA900 (Band 8) and WCDMA2100 (Band 1) bands which are not part of this filing.

GSM/GPRS 850/1900

EGPRS 850/1900

CDMA 800/1900

WCDMA 850/1900

LTE 750 [band 13] and 1700/2100 [band 4 – this is LTE AWS]

yes the "open market" phones tend to get updates slightly faster than the carrier specific ones running the mobile operator builds
