michaelmurfy: I see nobody has said Windows Phone? This doesn't solve the whole "physical keyboard" thing but I find the operating system great for what the OP has described.

Apart from Paulthagerous, Kiwinz, Freatism, and Paulmilbank, no one mentioned Winphone. Pub lunch :)

Maybe you need to specify what android devices you have used. You get what you pay for, so sounds like you have been using older or lower spec ones. I like others haven't had major problem with crashing. iphone apps also crash, but both iOS and the android OS are pretty reliable. Maybe look at the windows phone offerings.

Yah I have to say buy an HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4, and everything but the keyboard issues should go away. I think you would be blown away by the HTC.

I know I was and I have tried a LOT of phones. Still have the S4 though :)

That's like complaining why 1982 mini can't overtake like a 2010 Audi!

That does make sense based on a lot of our experiences.

Is there any chance you can borrow a nice Android from someone? Because I often hear people say 'I really want a physical keyboard', but after a few weeks with a good droid it's all forgotten about. And you have to sacrifice screen size or weight to have one.

Have you had a bit of a play with a BB10 running device? The people I know that have used one really don't like the software.

Personally, I think that's a bit harsh on the OP. A lot of people don't realise the vastly different experience that is offered by a high end device. Our job as geeks is to educate them :)

Funny you say that, without exception every person I have heard talk about them thought that after some initial working out the interface they loved it.

having said that if OP wants a physical keyboard then you have to buy whats available.

I agree with other posters , never had any issue with Android

Now THIS is what I am looking forward to for my Z10! I love my Blackberry and its a really nice handset. There are some excellent apps available (try The Guardian) and 10.2 will just make the platform much better.

Plus the focus on security is a positive point for me. The fact that Google 'knows' so much about you with Google phones and MS has admitted 'helping' the NSA etc. with Windows phones are a turn off. If you want some more good reasons I suggest Crackberry.com - they recently had a post about why BB was better than the alternatives.
