Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a 4GB MicroSD HC card tonight. Will let you all know how I get on in a few days. Once I get it and can confirm the seller is genuine etc I can get more - $130NZ (incl. shipping), maybe $120NZ if I order several at a time.

That camera thing was also blogged about by ME back a while ago unbeknown that someone had already done a similar comparison ... that "sharpness" is awful and you can't even get the "usermode" to retain it's setting as "soft"

The web application crashes repeatedly, my E50 does it even more often so it must be a Nokisymbian thing,.
The email sucks, has anyone gotten it to work properly yet? I bought "Profimail" instead from Lonely cat games which is awesome and just like a real email client.

The other thing with this N95 and the e50, The audio output is highly compressed (In audio terms not data) Nokia are totally obsessed with a lawsuit when somebody kills their hearing by listening to Sepultra or Anthrax at max volume 8 hours of every day.

If you set the equalizer gain right down to the bottoms for all bands it gives you back your music punch and dynamics at the expense of "loudness".

I personally love the email client (I'm assuming that you're talking about the one that you get access to through messaging). I use it to check my Slingshot e-mail account and it works fine. I was really happy with it when I finally set it up a couple of days ago :P. It works like a charm.

Well, that's my 2 cents.

Can't beat the burble of that American V8. Ohh yea!

One thing that worries me about my phone is the poor build quality , whenever I use the buttons on the top half of the phone (the ones below the screen) I can feel the whole top half going in and out by the pressure I apply to the buttons as if the connection between the keypad and screen is loose. Does anyone else have these sort of problems ?

The build quality is terrible. I am taking my phone back on Monday because I have had enough of it. If I pay $1400 for a phone, I expect it to be solid and of a very high build quality.

It is a problem on many N95's that the screen moves back and forward. Not only does my phone do this, but the area around the memory card door squeaks when you hold it there. This is really annoying and combined with the screen moving part, it is the reason why I am taking it back.

Can't beat the burble of that American V8. Ohh yea!

I must say if the iPhone has hsdpa, a bluetooth GPS and a few other functions my N95 had I'd go for the iPhone, however other than the memory and storage issue with my N95 it's great. I've dropped it a fair few times now and it still functions, I must say if it's in my jeans pocket and I receive a call, most times I'll hang up on the caller trying to take it out my pocket so the keylock isn't that great :/
I still rate the N95 8/10, got me from a to b this evening using mgmaps :)

Yea it justs pisses me off everytime I use the phone it just feels so fragile and shaky.Where did you buy your phone from ? I bought it from Parallel imported with a warranty but Im not sure if it would be covered in the warranty as they might put this under "general wear and tear"".You have high expectations when you buy a top-end phone and this is disappointing :(

Got mine from PI and the phone feels rock solid. I am impressed with the build quality and coupled with the solid leather case I feel its a very robust product.
What really impresses me is how much is packed into such a small package. The iPhone has a lot to catch up on I feel.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I got mine from E- Town and mine has been like this from about a day after I got it. I have tossed up between taking it back a few times and haven't done it but was thinking about the fact that I paid $1400 for it and I thought that for that price, I should defiantly take it back.

Just to go off- topic for a bit;as for the iPhone, I personally don't think that is as good as the N95 as it is missing a lot of functions that the N95 has + Symbian is open source where the iPhone uses Apple's buggy closed source software. The only thing that the iPhone has that I wish that the N95 had is a touch screen although the iPhone had no raised buttons so that would create a problem.

Quality? Hmmm... Mixed feelings

I got mine 4 weeks ago. The first day I realized that one of the buttons on the side doesnt work. Oops, out-of-box failure.
They replaced with another one, which is working fine. I have no issues with the quality any more, it's an awesome phone.

I think the first batch of phones were very bad from quality point of view, but I can see improvements.
So in this case who got it so early can be disappointed, but try to bring it back.

Just received my 4GB MicroSD HC card today. Have tried it in the phone briefly, the phone recognises it, and sees a 4GB card. Now all I have to do is put >2GB of data on there for 100% confirmation of compatibility. . .

FWIW I'm convinced that compatibility with the 4GB card virtually guarantees compatibility with the 6, 8, 16 and 32GB cards to follow in the same format. Woo! Last I heard should be up to 8GB by the end of the year.

I have the same issue but only on the right side, so if only I push the left menu, red release, C delete and media buttons.
I didnt recognize it as a problem until I read your post. However the movement is not that big that would worry me that much.

My N95 has stuffed up.Last night while making a call the screen went all white and since then the phone hasn't turned on.I tried everything but it just doesnt respond and doesnt charge also.Took it to parallel imported and told them about it and the loose build quality of the phone.They've noted all the problems and told me to wait for around 10 days till they get it all fixed :(
