Wait, you want us to hike the price up? Ok, it will be $599 :P

No news to share on local availability just yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we can :)

Silly, I dont think so.

Which brand name (Nokia or Microsoft) in the mobile phone market place has a better recognition and reputation. I'll give you a hint It's not Microsoft.  The reaction will be "Oh so Microsoft have started making phones, are they any good?". Some may remember the Kin and know what a flop that was". Not all buyers are Geeks and know that Nokia was putting WP onto their phones and the current Microsoft phones are rebranded Nokias. People will go for a mobile brand they know.

I predicted when Meego was released it would outsell Nokia WP phones, it did.  I predict Microsoft won't be in the mobile market for very long.

None of this it meant to put down the current crop of Nokia/Microsoft phones, while they have some draw backs in my opinion, they're quite good phones.

No mainstream NZ consumers will ever have heard of the Kin. Best you might get is the odd enterprise grumble about Windows Mobile, but Windows Phone already had that shadow.

The new logos look nice, there really is something to be said for consistent branding. At this point, Microsoft Mobile says more about what these devices do and mean than Nokia does/did.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Nokia Networks does in the future as well.

I think you're wrong here.  An ecosystem, maybe even a hardware vendor, without a mobile strategy is dead.  Its Google, Apple, Microsoft going forward.

No end user or even decision maker, I have ever met, even knows what Kin was.

People are fickle, they move ecosystems they move brands all the time.  Look at how a company like One Plus One or Xiaomi can start up and start growing their share.

Microsoft has deep pockets to grind this out well past the Windows 10 release...
