Hi BrentR - any update on price and availability? If you do work for Nokia -- your Customer Care centre in Auckland doesn't provide much care - a friend went in there today and there were two customer waiting patiently and not a Nokia person in sight. He left ....

Excellent, look forward so seeing more details of it.
I will have to put it head to head with the 'ol N95. I'm mostly impressed with the newer N/E series but often the old girl shows something up in the newer ones..

obviously the famous N97 is not as good as we all think...or i bet

he hasnt gone to work today,
wont go for the next week or two,
might only eat just enough to survive,
and when someone comes to the door, circles his N97 constantly while on his hands and knees with his teeth showing, growling at anything or anyone that gets close enough- he might even bite ya!

Well, thats what i would be doing.

I dont think he is working directly for Nokia and that's because:
a. There is no Nokia office in Wellington
b. I worked for Nokia New Zealand Ltd and I dont remember him :)

But he can still work for a retailer or Partner or Expansys or whoever.. :)

I is a kollege stoodent. Bee nice.

Hi all,

Apologies for my lack of response, I'm out on the road at the moment.

I'm not at liberty to discuss pricing and availability as yet, but rest assured when I can, I will.

goethe: Thats disappointing to hear, I'll pass your feedback on and apologise if you're friend feels un Cared for.

Aloha: I work from home hence no office in Wellington. I can tell you that I have worked for Nokia for coming up 18 Months now.

jjnz1: You're not far from the truth. I fear to leave the house in the event that someone may pry "the precious" from my hands.

kiwitrc: Sorry my sister is off limits :P

In regards to photos, what would you all like to see photos of, over and above the images already available?

A video review would be nice. Just what you think of the phone in general :)

Awesome :) From what I've read, its pretty quick.

Thats one thing that was a bit of a disappointment with my N96 is that it was very slow. They released a firmware update for it recently and its a lot faster, but could still be better, and its no match for the N97 I hear!

From who/where did you purchase yours?

Like to know where it imported from, if it has a standard NZ charger, and if it has Asian characters/keystrokes...

I know...I'm living in shame.

I will order it this weekend, likely from Expert Infotech.

Although, holding off that first 2 weeks has saved me between $300-$400...prices have tumbled since it was released, naturally.

So...drop $1400 on a new cellphone...and at the same time I will treat myself to a new pair of $500 Oakleys...'Polarized Titanium Whisker', with prescription tailored lenses.
