Woollyman:
With the Vodafone SIM in it doesn't matter what is written in the APN - it still has "internet" for 2degrees yet works fine on Vodafone.
Thanks!

I then got an error message: Your device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book Entries. Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device.

williamirvine67: so from what i now understand, theres no way to get the service books unless i go on account with Vodafone / Telecom, or untill 2degrees offers a blackberry plan.... would vodafone service books work for 2degrees or are they completely different (i saw the get service books button on the vodafone site, but you have to have an email hooked up in order to use them)
(ive tried the get settings option on the 2degrees website but that only seems to work for the 8320 model, and i doubt that would provide service books)
so why would RIM restrict the use of the browser through service books? i would have only thought they would only be for email and the like for when you were setting up emails, etc
Help much appreciated

williamirvine67: ohh... i see what you are saying now, yea my edge is in lower case, always thought that was only because 2degrees hadnt released any data plans (which it kind of is).
im still confused though, because before i did the reinstall of the system the browser was still present, and i was on (lower-case) edge.
but the browser should reappear when 2degrees releases a data plan (and i sign up), is that the case?
thanks for your help
ohh... and with that newer UK 4.5 os would you recommend it? much diffrence from voda NZ 4.5?

johnr: Going from 4.2 handset software to 4.5 will also resolve a issue of the blackberry 8100 / 8110 dropping phone calls
