Almost there. AFAIK Telecom has a release candidate, and they are now sorting out distribution and support. It should be here soon.

Are you going to make it available from here? or can you?
If not, then how will it be released?

Most likely it will be available from Telecom website, just as they updated Harrier.

Sorry, we can't make it available from here, it should be available directly from Telecom New Zealand's own website. This is because of copyright, licensing and support issues. If TNZ wanted us to distribute it that would be no problem, but in terms of logistic, keeping the latest version (although it doesn't change that frequently) it is better for them to keep it simple.

I am testing the A2DP hack with my Apache with Aku2.2 this weekend, was waiting for my Bluetake i-Phono mini stereo headphones to arrive.

Now that they have I can say it works quite well, the wireless stereo sounds great on these i-phono headphones.

The music pauses when an incoming call is connected and resumes when disconnected. However sometimes it's glitches and I have to go back into Bluetooh settings and reset the wireless headset option. Same if Bluetooth radio is disabled and turned on again I have to re-enable headset and wireless stereo.

Occasianlly when startingv the first song there are a few glitches in music, it rights it self after 3-4 secs, no problems after the first song in a playlist, I get good Bluetooth performance 5 -6 meters away, any further and the music will start to glitch.

I have yet to implement some of the further registry hacks to improve the experience

I get excellent music performance with TCPMP (supports most formats), I have yet try and get AVRCP working with TCPMP. The headphones have quite a high volume far louder than a standard Bluetooth headset. TCPMP also has a great 10 band equalizer, so the sound can be tweaked to sound almost as good as wired headphones.

Haven't had much time to test push email, I think we were notified of Exchange Sp2 functionality this week. I get occasional music glitches when data is transfered over EVDO. Sent test message at 4.00pm arrived on my Apache at 4.06pm that's as far as I have tested. Battery life does take a hit with push enabled.

Considering this (A2DP) is a hack I am very pleased with it's performance, I am willing to live with the minor glitches, I never had the music stop once I had wireless stereo enabled and the music going, played my whole playlist fine.

So for those of you waiting, hold on a little longer for the imminent release of AKU2.2 for the Apache.

This is my experience with the hack, I am not implying yours will be as smooth..

cheers

So it's no released yet. I was asked to remove my blog post last week where I announced the AKU2 release and the feature list after receiving the RC file, because Telecom was worried of not having infrastructure in place for support, and distribution.

It seems they still don't have it, so you are only getting a copy from an insider, not a public one.

Until their webpage is up there's no official release.

You don't need to remove your post - please leave it... I was just commenting that this doesn't sound the "official" stuff yet.
