ekud: Just followed original post to speed up my device have noticed a huge difference! now to find some cool apps!

Anyone found an RDP app?

Yeah I just worked out how to do it, install the uberkernel kernel and you can change the CPU speed using Govnah. The whirlpool wiiki is pretty good. The extra speed is a very nice increase for launching apps etc, very noticeable.

To be honest if I was looking for a tablet I would have probably paid ~$500 for this piece of hardware. For surfing the net, emailing, facebooking, looking at photos and ebook reader it is a very nice piece of hardware. Battery life is pretty good. I only charged it to 90% yesterday and now it is down to 37% with a fair amount of usage. Hard to tell if CPU overclock changes battery life yet though. The good thing is that you can easily change the CPU speed to whatever if you are using it on a long flight etc to try and squeeze every last bit of time out of it.

Also I made sure I set my account as a US one. So I could get the paid for apps. I am not sure if I want to buy any at this stage though with rumours of an Android port very prevalent on other sites. I guess it could be a few months till we get one though. At this stage the only program that would be worth buying is Kalemsoft Media Player. Seems to play avi's and mkv's pretty well. $6 for the full version which also supports streaming over wifi. Yeah I'm probably being tight!

Dammit i didnt do this, Anyway to revert it w/o factory restore?
I wonder whether this would work:
http://www.kalemsoft.com/site/purchase.html

EDIT - Downloaded demo from this site, and installed. Plays back an xvid .avi (350MB) no worries.  Struggled with a 720p .mkv though...

Not sure how installation would be handled though

I purchased this, everything is done via Paypal and then authorized by entering your email address within application. You will need to have Preware installed to install the ipk file.

I followed the orginal post too, it was nice and easy and you get a definite increase in usability.
Haven't done the o'c yet though.

Can one of you guys who have a TouchPad try out www.diagram.ly and see if the website works?

Not really.  I didnt get the popup on the Touchpad.  It loads the toolbar etc, but not the main workspace (doesnt show the dots like on PC), and it doesn't like trying to drop objects on.

I've installed a simple paint program on mine for notes, a quick search revealed no apps for drawing diagrams

No word processor either?

Edit: apparently there's an app Tapnote for the Pre that takes notes and syncs with dropbox: http://www.precentral.net/app-review-tapnote

Can one of you guys check if it works on the TouchPad?

I did the overclock yesterday and speed of loading apps etc is definately improved (1.5ghz) but I am pretty sure the battery has taken a big hit. Not 100% sure how much but it was down to 37% after using Kindle for about 30 mins, some music playing (maybe 1-2 hours) and at the same time playing angry birds.

From 100% charge? That's a big hit indeed.

I just installed Tapnote Lite and linked it to my DropBox, I wrote a short test file and upon saving the DropBox alert popped up on my laptop saying that a new .txt file had been added :)

I set up my Touchpad with the UK App Catalog so just need to get my hand on a UK credit card and I can buy the full app for 5Pound.

The Touchpad already comes with a basic note pad app, I used this yesterday at a presentation while simultaneously using the voice recorder :)
