Thanks feitasm! Unfortunately there's no XL as I was leaning towards that one but I thought it would cost only a bit more than the 640's actual price (I thought it would cost a bit more than $300) but I guess I'll get the 640 because it's cheaper and still pretty good. I really wanted matte cyan though ;( (I don't know how to do a crying emoticon :D)

You can purchase Lumia XL from Clove UK by parallel importing it.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I'll be going Cyan too.  You will be able to buy the backs to swap out the colours.

But isn't Cyan glossy for the 640? (not XL)

I decided to get the Lumia 735 from Harvey Norman's as it's the same price ($1 cheaper 298$) as the Lumia 640. I think it's better in most ways except:

Glance
Maybe less battery life?

I think the Lumia 735 probably has a better camera, I got some great photos! Only bad thing is low megapixel but if you take it right you can't tell. I think I'm happier with this anyway!

Very keen to know if the MS Lumia 640 will work with MyFeeder and read a Snapper card...

Can anyone at VFNZ perform this test?

Had me up until the screen size. 5.7" ? Think I'll hold onto my 1320 a little longer :-)

Has anyone bought the 640 XL yet??     My wife wants a large screen phablet phone .  I have looked at the Nexus 6 but she says it’s too expensive  and the other Android large screen ones are also in this category.  Same goes for iPhone but the 640 XL seems to fit the spot fine. I have a Lumia 520 that I bought as a windows phone plaything last year and she quite likes it and I see that most of the apps she uses are available  for Win Phone.  Unfortunately the NZ Herald app is not as good as the Android one and   is much like the RSS feed one that you get on some Android devices (My Nexus 7)  and the Stuff app  on my 520 won’t run  and shuts down and I can’t see it any longer on the Windows app store..   No Spark app.

Is there any issues putting in or changing the SD cad to a larger one, I’m assuming you can tell the camera to store on the SD card??

None  of the  NZ carriers have this phone only the 5” 640  (Spark and Vodafone) not even on the Microsoft NZ store so the only option is a parallel import that seem to start at about $347  including shipping  which is not a bad price considering the state of the NZ Peso ..

Thanx in advance..

Regards,

Old3eyes

They are available via Harvey Norman in NZ (not parallel imported)
http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/phone-and-gps/mobile-phones/microsoft-lumia-640-xl-lte-smartphone.html

You can put up to a 128GB MicroSD card in the device (on top of the 8GB of onboard memory)

Apps like NZ News will aggregate local and international newspapers feeds
