Handle9:JWR:Handle9:MikeB4: All platforms are irrelevant if you don't use it.
Yep, and world wide nobody uses windows phone. With a sub 3% market share it isn't a mainstream platform.
I've got a Lumia as a spare phone, and quite like it, it's just such a pain to use with a lack of apps support. It's a bit sad but the market has spoken.
What apps are you missing?
Just for example. It'd be nice if my wife could use it for running with as her iphone 6+ is too big for running. We're both doing c25k but the c25k app available on windows phone is different and has different times on it. The zen labs app is on android and iPhone and works well. There are alternatives but they aren't really supported (windows phone 7 app).
Kiwibank doesn't have a app, etc etc etc.
It all gets too hard when there are mature ecosystems that do everything that windows phone does.
JWR: As far as Kiwibank goes.. I won't do banking on a phone.. too much risk:)
freitasm:Wade: The truth is with Android you can practically live in the MS ecosystem if you want to thanks to all those fantastic apps MS have developed, why would you change?
Microsoft Outlook, Onedrive, OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint are all fantastic additions to the Android platform. Actually even better than the ones on Windows Phone now.
kiwitrc:Lias: Never understood the hate for Windows Phone, it's hands down better than IOS or android, and for an enterprise it's the only choice other than BB because android and ios are both utterly laughable for business purposes.
What business do you do on your WP?
I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. Rubbish! It's no riskier than doing it on any other portable PC which could be stolen.
The Kiwibank mobile banking website works really well on a small screen. For added security, you can only send money to payees that are already set up.

Rubbish! Anything over the airwaves is much more hackable!

Nothing wrong really. Or are you talking about the user interface? There is a very clear distinction between OS, UI and UX.

More and more Apps are appearing and there has been initiatives discussed by MSFT to address the App problem.
