scottjpalmer: Ordered one today from phonesdirect.co.nz - should be here Tuesday

Already received a two pack of Martin Fields Overly Plus screen protectors, an 8GB microSDHC Ultra High Speed card and ordered a tuff-as-nuts.com / Nutshell black pouch with full flap with magnetic closure and belt loop which should be here early next week too

Australia are getting their stock tomorrow (of the Vodafone / Optus / NZ favourable variant, the E71-1, with the 900/2100 UMTS bands rather than the Telstra Next G favourable 850/2100 UMTS variant) - Expansys has a reasonable price

You'll love it!!!

Such a fantastic phone :D

Got it yesterday, but it has the Asian keypad which I specifically requested it not to have (me being the fussy mutt I am)

I'm sending it back to Paul @ phonesdirect.co.nz (top bloke, very understanding of fussy custys like me) and I have ordered from Expansys AU who will hopefully deliver by week end but probably early next week

GOT IT!! Yay. Haven't played proper but I love it.

It got picked up by DHL in Melbourne at 1640 yesterday and cleared customs in Auckland at 0522 today, not too shabby.

More later . . . .

Scott,  I brought an E71.   Great device however I am still trying to get use to the S60 OS having been a Windows Mobile user for the last 2 yrs.  Does the smart dialing feature work on your device, i.e. when you type in a name from the Home screen does it bring up a list of matching contacts?  I got mine via Phones Direct (HK model) and this feature does not work on mine.

Scott - nice phone, but it was very top-heavy feeling in the hand!

Much nicer phone in RL than  in pictures - gorgeous screen...

Hi Richard

I was the same when trying a WinMo device recently after being an S60 user for the last few years.

RE: The contacts search, yes mine works fine, great feature! (Mine is the AU model from Expansys AU)

You could always change the product code to a different area and re-flash the phone if features are not working on your current product code.

Scott, Will do.  thanks.  Also have you tried the Nokia Software Updater?  Even time I have tried this I get an Connection Error message saying the service is unavailable.

No I haven't yet. As far as I am aware there have been no firmware updates so no need.

Cheers
