I'd just like to say a big thanks to everyone who helped sort this Sony BlueSh*t problem out.

Uninstalled it fully and followed the instructions from 'jonsguides' fully and I'm up and running now on my Vaio TR5MP

Finally got active sync and others working after a ridiculous amount of time wasted trying to work it myself.

Many thanks

Scotty

Hello all, can't thank everyone enough for taking the time to post this great info.

I'm trying to run activsync between a Sony Vaio S-170 and Ipaq 3970, I have followed all the tutorials listed here (Jon Scaife's, ebe's fix). The driver is installed fine and working, I can send files back and forth with the Ipaq - I can use dial-up networking with my T-610.

Problem is I can't use activesync. If I go to the bluetooth manager on the Ipaq and tap the paired Vaio, it trys to retrieve services and just freezes up. Then when I close bluetooth manager it crashes.

Any help would be geatly appriciated, I'm so close!!

Thanks

JME this is not a problem with the Sony Vaio. I guess you're still using Pocket PC OS 2002 on your h3970?

The old Bluetooth Stack on these iPAQ (and the h3870) can only handle up to 7 services. You can disable any services you don't need - for example on your computer disable Dial-up, Fax, OBEX Synchronisation. Then soft reset the h3970 and try again.

Another option is to buy the Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade from HP.

JME, glad it works for you. I think Sony does read the forums (like other manufacturers, because I see in my logs), but none recognise the effort put in here...

I have a Sony S150P which I added the internal bluetooth module too. I download the current bluetooth drivers from the Sony website and then downloaded Bluespace 3.3 from Sony as well. XP professional at this point is Service Pack 1. I could pair with my Motorola V600 and pair with my Ipaq but I could not do an Activesync with the Ipaq. I tried all different variations of drivers and apps from suggestions here and other places and still had no luck. So, I went back to the original configuration (all original Sony drivers and apps) and then upgraded to Service Pack 2..... Well, everything works perfectly now. My Ipaq syncs and I can use the V600 as a modem.... Life is good and I don't have any dongle hanging off the side of my laptop.

If needed I can supply the links to the apps and drivers I found.

Hi there

I can't get my Dell Axim 30i to sync with my Sony Z1 Laptop.

First I tried via Cable and it won't detect it at all. In Device manager it just comes up as a usb receiver and will not install the drivers correctly.

I installed Activesync first as per instructions. Works fine on my desktop PC but will not work on my laptop at all...

Then I tried via bluetooth...no success so i read some of the threads here to do with the widcomm drivers. Installed them and now i get this message

"Your bluetooth software license does not include use with this bluetooth device"

Jons guide has this solution removed so what do i do now...USB won't work at all and now i can't use bluetooth either...please help me!!

please..i have had enough of this already lol

Cheers

Nick

does anyone still know the procedure on how to install the widcomm driver stack? because all the information in jon's website is already removed.

i tried to install the widcomm driver but after that, i just get a blue and red logo on my system tray. there is a BLUETOOTH CONFIGURATION in control panel but i can't open it. when i check in the device manager i can see that it is using the widcomm unsignd driver and not ms. but it says that bluetooth device not found and another error saying that no license found.

i am using a vaio tr2 with internal bluetooth.

thanks

Carlos,

I'm having trouble getting rid of bluespace on my Sony laptop and replacing it with something to get activesync working. I would be grateful if you can hook me up with the info and files necessary to get activesync working.

Thanks,
-j
