Is there a quicktime for mobile? Or a media player for N8 that allows a little more freedom in playback? IE the only thing I like about quicktime on my computer is the ease of going frame by frame when reviewing golf swings. It would be nice to have this kind of control on my phone rather than tap and pray with the stock player.
Thoughts?

Have you had a look on Nokia Store. I'm sure there's some other video players on there, not sure though that any can to frame by frame but wouldn't be surprised.

@BrentR out of curiosity I visited http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/nokia-belle-update/nokia-belle-update-availability and clicked on the NZ updates, only to find that my product code wasn't even listed: 059C7R0

Are you able to shed some light on this? Are we due to receive an update to Belle?

It has just been confirmed that the Symbian Belle update will be rolled out to NZ product codes, and should show up in due course (read: soon).

@NikRolls Thanks for the update. It was just odd to see so many NZ product codes already on the page, just not my one :-)

Look forward to it.

Nic,

My wife owns an N8 that was purchased here in New Zealand, the phone was supplied by Nokia to a charity for a fundraising auction and is still under warranty.  This phone has an Australian product code (059D294) which is listed as being a code that will not receive the Belle upgrade.

How can we get this phone upgraded to Belle?

I would hate to look for it again as the threads have become so lengthy but in Nokia's Support Discussion Forums Nokia have since advised that all Australian variants will in fact get Belle.

If keen the advice is either under the N Series or Software categories at http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/ but be prepared for a lengthy and tiresome read finding it Smile.

I upgraded my NAM N8 to Belle on Wednesday. Took a wee while to get used to but happy with the upgrade at this stage. Noticing a few options no longer exist and you will need to reinstall your apps.

@TF - What do you mean by what will happen to QuickOffice?

@BrentR, now that my N8 has been flashed and working, can I accept Bella when it comes or will it undo my flash?

@lyonrouge update away, I hold no promises as to what it may to the QT libraries do if you continue to hard reset on a regular basis, I for one would hope that it holds everything together :)

The E7 comes with a full version of Quick Office pre-installed. As you mention you need to reinstall the apps.  As Quick Office was pre-installed I don't have Quick Office on on my apps list in Nokia Store to reinstall it without having to pay for it.  What I don't know: Does the Belle version also include apps that were originally pre-installed?

I use Quick Office on a daily basis so cannot afford to be without it. With the imminent arrival of Microsoft Office apps for Nokia phones it won't be a big deal if Quick Office isn't included however I need to know so that I either update now or later.

I'm not sure about all of the apps that were previously pre-installed but QuickOffice was bundled with Belle when I upgraded.

There were OpenOffice and Adobe PDF .sis files available from the Anna release on Nokia Forums somewhere. I might even have them lying around somewhere if you found you needed them.

@BrentR, I've not done another hard reset since that fatefull day. I do the occasional "clear data" (via ActiveSync) but never the four finger salute.
