Have you actually tried to use that app?   It's completely hopeless.  It hasn't worked on my Windows phone for months.

The Android version however....

Apparently the latest Insider builds have enabled Cortana for New Zealand and a number of other regions. I would have thought @nathan would have let us all know. :)

I wouldn't know. I turned on my test tablet last night. It was last updated in February and it says there's no update available, even though it is two builds behind. And on fast ring.

Hmmm, I hope you're right. However, the only info I can find is insider preview 14316 and Skype Bots can be trialed in NZ.

I have seen some murmurings on Reddit that Cortana is working in more regions without being set to US or another region, but there also some feedback that it may be due to a bug and Cortana is not checking region correctly. I guess we will have to wait some more and see how Redstone shapes up in the next couple of months. Bah, at this point, I would take a working camera over Cortana seeing as I use the camera almost every day and have never had the option of using Cortana natively in NZ.

Has anyone successfully used Cortana with their device set to NZ location?

freitasm:... it says there's no update available ...

Doesn't it take a few hours (4-24) to reveal release updates if the machine has been off-line for a substantial period?

So, with the Windows 10 Anniversary update imminent, are we going to see Cortana finally make an appearance in New Zealand?

I have the latest insider build on one of my machines and Cortana is working fine with NZ regional settings.

Woohoo, just in time for MS to stop selling Windows Phones in NZ.

I had a play with it for about half an hour a week ago. It's really something. Quite spectacular. The problem from my perspective is a lot of apps don't work with it and people say use the website but that's a crock. I am heavily invested into Android and since my favourite games aren't available on WP and some of my favourite apps aren't available it's not going to work for me. If they closed the App Gap I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

One thing I don't get is the Windows Hello and rear facing cameras!
