Glad to see you got it sorted!

WEP is quite an old protection method, and now very easily broken. For example on my two year old laptop I could get your works WEP passkey in a couple of minutes using some readily available programs from the internet (like airsnort/aircrack etc) with essentially no knowledge of programming or hacking.

WPA on the other hand is secure enough that only the number of people with the neccessary know-how to break the protection is very, very small. Even more secure would be WPA with MAC address filtering, but over a network they might find it a little cumbersome.

So you don't need a lot of information really, just tell them WPA >>>>>>>>>> WEP and they can look it up themselves if they care about their networks security.

Ditto. Native Google Maps application with V20 is excellent for speed.

Yes, sadly that is a known problem with restoring settings etc across a firmware upgrade (I only do contacts, calender entries, and notes).

I definitely do not get missing keypresses though, and I haven't personally heard of anyone who does (which of course does not in any way rule out that they are there for you).

Get InsFast for re-installing software after firmware upgrade/hard reset, great stuff and as per usual 3rd party suppliers can resolve many issues we may have (Nokia seriously needs to sort this out though).

I would hate to manually install all the programs on my phone now:

Fring
Emoze
RotateMe
VBagX
Quake
Accelerometer app
PIPs (for Quake to run)
Platinum Sudoku
Google Maps
MGMaps
Garmin XT
ScanR
Handy Taskman
Salling Clicker
Screenshot
Y-Browser
MSDict Medical Dictionary
Quickoffice upgrade
EmTube
Lightsaber app
Mobile Winrar
Opera Mobile
FLV Player
Flash (required for FLV player)
Keyboard drivers for bluetooth keyboard (iGo Ultra-Slim Stowaway - highly recommended)

Aloha:
gb5757870: Does anyone have their alarms go off when the phone is switched off? Worked fine before upgrade but now when the alarm goes off (when the phone if off), the phone powers on and the whole screen is just lit up with battery indicator icon slighly visible. Only way to recover is to pull the battery out.

I tried to replicate your problem, but my phone works okay with the new firmware:

1. I set up the alarm
2. Switched off the phone
3. Alarm started on time with alarm window plus backlight and battery indicator only on the screen. Just as you described above.
4. I chose alarm off.
5. Then it asked me: Do you want the phone switched on? I said yes.
6. My phone switched on.

Could you describe at which point do you have problem? You dont have the alarm window when the phone powers on?

It took a few months but some other punter found the solution:

Ugh, I hope that author gets RotateMe signed soon. I spent ages trying to get it signed but gave up.
That Symbian Signed site always seems to be down.

Thanks!

I may have to take you up on that.
I am kinda halfway there already. I have an account at symbiansigned and I have the .csr file.
Now all I'm waiting for is access to the site to be able to upload/download the certificate.

Of recent the site seems to be closed a lot.

This whole certificate thing seems about as annoying as DVD region encoding.

Yay! I did it!
The symbian site opened at 9pm and I managed to download my certificate and sign the darn thing...lol
It was worth it though; nice little app!

Thanks again for your offer, and also your list of programs. I would never have known about rotate me otherwise.

I had heard of ScanR before. Do you use it a lot? Is it useful?
This is also similar to Qipit which I haven't tried either.
