No, the Nokia Lumia 800 has two variants:

• European Variant - WCDMA HSPA 900/1900/2100 MHz (RM-801)
• US Variant - WCDMA HSPA 850/1900/2100 MHz (RM-819)

mckenndk: I had a chat to the guy in the car phone warehouse today and they were sure the model they had was quadband pointing at the nokia europe website?where it says it supports all 4 frequencies.

Do you think the european one is different?

Then Nokia could be fairly accused of misleading advertising:

Clearly the impression one gains here is that the Lumia 800 is a quad-band WCDMA device.

Therefore it would be prudent for Nokia to amend this asap.

No doubt the two major carriers will be quietly pleased that neither variant will work fully on the other's network. Any consumer buying this phone with the impression that they can use it with the opposition network I suspect won't be very happy to find out later...

This is more directed at Nokia - when might we expect to see a Lumia with more than 16GB of storage? I have 160GB+ worth of music thus I really need the extra storage. Right now the only option I have is the iPhone but I'd like an another option on the table when I upgrade my phone in the near future - is there an ETA on when phones will appear from Nokia with more storage space?

Hi Kawaii,

We only ever comment on announced devices sorry.

In terms of getting access to all your music anywhere, there are services like Spotify, which is due in New Zealand in the near future, which will stream your collection over the air should you need.

By the way, talking about streaming your music content instead of using local storage...

When I first got a Windows Phone device moving from my old Windows Mobile 6.5 I doubled my data plan from 250MB to 500MB. When I updated my device to Mango I doubled it again to 1GB. And that's without using streaming.

It would be nice if Nokia implemented the automatic WiFi usage they have in their Symbian and Meego OS, the usage in the last couple of months on a Nokia N9 was reduced by half.

RDIO doesn't support streaming your previously bought collection in the current version as far as I can see.

RDIO doesn't support streaming your previously bought collection in the current version as far as I can see.

You can use the desktop application to match your collection and then you can use that - although their desktop application is a hit and miss.

From what I can see it only matches and plays on your PC, not OTA back to your handset.
