Thanks for trying. I'm noticing something interesting with both the eBay and amazon prices. If we look at these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0056UOUC8/ == 16GB Touchpad from $228 USD.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0055D66V4/ == 32GB Touchpad from $285 USD.

Just a day or two ago, the 32GB was going for USD $300 or more (sometimes eBay auctions were closing for less) and the 16GB for around USD $250, so it is possible we are seeing a certain level of demand has been met and prices are dropping a little and could fall further in time.

Perhaps the same will happen here for those that are patient. Might pay to wait a little while and we could see better prices than offered from Mobicity.

Thank you for putting in so much effort trying to find these at a good price for us, shame it didn't work out in the end but that is how things go sometimes.

I was thinking the same, once the fuss has died down the prices will fall on sites like TradeMe. Also there will be sales from people who bought just for curiosity sake due to the attracrive price then resell aiming to recoup their costs.

It won't take too long for the market to die off.

If that is true then that makes a pretty clear case for HP to have dropped it as they did...
..and you'd hope they dropped the design engineers along with it.

I'd have to agree with the above posters, with time as people start to forget or realise they don't actually need another tablet or they are not happy with it prices may come down. I'd also assume if the android port takes too long then people will begin selling as many bought on the basis of having android run on it.

Will be interested to see the effect in the local market i.e trademe as it doesn't sound like there were many in the country to begin with. Although the Harvery Norman and JB stock I presume still needs to be sold? Unless the New Zealand distributors have already allocated the stock to full other orders. The next week should be interesting.

That was my basis for purchasing from MobiCity at $300, realistically at that price there are not many tablets that compete with it, I looked for alternatives on Amazon, eBay and also the chinese websites and this looks like the best you will get for this sort of price. Although if I paid an extra couple of hundred I could have a full android tablet, I managed to get my accessories for this for around $100 (Protector, touchstone, case), taking total purchase to $420. For that price and all that was included there isn't much better.

I'd say some degree of my purchase at a higher price was in the spirit of the moment I don't believe I will end up regretting it. If I do, i'll just sell at most likely a lower price and take the loss.
