Windows Phone doesn't play flash, something like UC Browser may though

D'Oh! Cheers for the suggestion Brent, I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

If you're interested (or if anyone with a Windows Phone can get this working), the Flash Player site I'm trying to stream from is www.rick.com.

Hmm, Flash Player no go with that browser. Seems odd you can't get a version of Flash for Windows Phone.

Just upgraded my Lumia 900 (Winphone 7) to the Lumia 930 on Winphone 8.10.14.....
Love the screen resolution & clarity in daylight, camera is tops, good storage despite no external card, and its quick, easily set up.
Despite the ongoing criticism of Winphone O/S (no, its not perfect), I find it quite intuitive on Lumia smartphones (am not a fan of Win8.1 on PC's though - roll on Win10).
So far I'd give it an 8/10 mark. Bought an Otterbox Defender case for it, built like the proverbial brick dunny.
All in all I am reasonably impressed with the Nokia unit, having previously owned Sony gear.

i have just brought a nokia lumia 640.
it is a great phone but when i tried to download adobe flash to watch skygo , tv on demand etc, i couldn't.
so i researched this and found out that i will never be able to run flash on this phone, or any windows phone, or any updated android phone .
flash stopped support for mobile a couple of years ago.
they gave a long explation why , but basically it was not worth the hassle for them.
i rung sky to point out their link to an app for windows mobile devices to view skygo was a nonsense as long as skygo was using flash and he agreed .
HTML 5 is a much better option but many sites still run with flash.
weather display live which runs our weather station is one of them.
i had noticed that it did not load in all the browsers on my husbands android samsung phone.
how is this going to play out ?
more and more people are moving to mobile devices that will not support flash and thousands of sites still use it

I think some versions of the Firefox browser support flash. They may work on Android but if my experience with Windows Phone is anything to go by there'll be very few if any after market browsers and probably not Firefox.

I agree re HTML 5. This has been coming for a long time. The Nokia N9 came with an HTML 5 browser three or four years ago. Those websites will need to get with the times or be left behind. Mobile is where it's heading for web access.

Mobile browser vendors are going to continue to do their darndest to stop supporting thirsty browser plugins like Flash. This trend is even moving to the desktop with Chrome dropping plugin support. As a result, on demand mobile video is mainly delivered with native apps because html5 isn't considered to be mature enough. Maybe someday in the future html5 support will be more prevalent than it is now.

Right now this means on demand video providers who can't justify the expense of developing native apps are going to have limited device support. In NZ, Netflix and Quickflix support Windows Phone. The situation may improve with universal windows apps which run on both mobile and PC.

I hate it when someone makes me stop, think and write a reasoned observation when I'd much rather foam about the Lightbox Chromecast app being 10 days late :p

Have you tried Photon browser on Android Kaihoka?? I am using it on a Sony Xperia Android Tablet - runs flash fine.
Havent tried it on the Lumia 930, but not having any problems with web browsing with it so far.
Give it a whirl - hope this helps
