iceteap3: anyone got an update on the mobicity orders ? the guy on the online chat is just so frustrating as he never gives me proper answers .
winaxter: My verification for mobicity was quite fast. I ordered on the 25th. Status started at lvl 2 and was verified the next day. On the 29th mobicity sent me a confirmation of the order that included a tracking code for fedex.

Technofreak:
Should I be looking elsewhere or just forget about the whole thing. At least for the time being.
I tend to think there will be some cheaper ones on TradeMe in a week or two when the hoopla has died down and people who bought on the spur of the moment decide to sell their under used Touchpad. On the other hand those that bought the Touchpad may discover it's actually quite good and it ends up developing a strong cult following, keeping the second hand prices up.
There certainly seems to be quiet a few scalpers selling on TradeMe which is frustrating for those of use who were genuine buyers looking to buy and keep the Touchpad. That's life I guess.
fab: My touchstone arrived from Acquire the other day - a lot smaller than I thought it would be, which is great.
asmcar: How much did you pay to get one through them? I got the case and touchstone from Noel Leeming for $100 all up, could've possibly got it cheaper but it was more of an impulse decision. Still $50 off RRP.
sonyab: from what i have heard is they have all the parts sitting there as obviously initially they thought it would be an on-going line. So rather than waste them looks like theya re going to make the parts up into one last lot of touchpads.

Question wasn't directed towards me but acquire currently has a touchstone + NZ ac adapter for $56.70 + GST. It's not as good as their earlier $35ish deal for the touchstone on its own but supplies are running low here and in the states (HP's custom fit case seems particularly hard to find now).

fab:
Paid $59 for the touchstone - was worried (needlessly?) that touchpad accessories are going to start being scare? I can't imagine HP manufacturing more of them, but may well be wrong.
Got a case from Noel Leeming website $40 I think (delievered) so ended up $100 for both. I'm happy with that.
