I have been hanging out to get the cyan 800 from Telecom once my voucher arrives :)

I just have a few questions for those that have them... I'm coming from a SGS which has a fair amount of APP's on it and I was wondering what the APP situation on WP7 is now?

To give you an idea I use APPS like Stuff, Map My Run, Google Maps and aTorrent regularly/daily - and waste time with stuff like Fieldrunner, Great Little War Game and Where's My Water.

I had a quick poke around on the http://www.windowsphone.com/ webpage which has quite a few. However, judging from the star ratings quite a few of them are rubbish and then you have the token Angry Birds games.

Oh and can you mount it as a USB drive like the SGS.. or is it more iPhoney?

There is over 75,000+ apps in the marketplace now growing at a rate of close to 300 apps/day. There is an unofficial stuff app, official NZHerald app, gmaps (unofficial google maps), few torrent clients that lets you monitor torrent client at home/work workstation. Nokia Lumia 710 comes with Nokia drive (free offline GPS voice guided navigation for 90+ countries) and Nokia maps which has plenty of local POI and is online only just like google maps.

There is Sports Tracker and Runkeeper which are both very nice apps for activity logging. When looking at reviews for apps on windowsphone.com marketplace, read the latest reviews to see how well they are rated as apps do get updated every now and then and past reviews do not get updated with new ratings from users so the average still stays low.

You cannot mount any WP7 device as a USB drive.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Seriously though, with Nokia Maps (and with no need of mobile data for maps) I wouldn't worry about Google Maps...

The Nokia Transport beta came out yesterday and it has support for Auckland. I used it last night to plan a trip into town and back and it worked great - very slick

Boom just ordered... Seemed like a pretty sweet deal. Thanks for the advise billgates - I always appreciate the level of knowledge on geekzone.

Im pretty excited now. I've gone iPhone 3G, iPhone4, then SGS - so I'm hoping this will be the best thing since sliced bread.
