leonlmf: cm7 alpha is out

when i first got the touchpad, i was excited to see that there's an android port coming.  but now, i'm liking the webos interface.  i'm not sure if i would still want to put android on touchpad.  probably, honeycomb (which i doubt will be ported) or ICS.

It dual boots and only takes up 2GB for itself and apps (the rest is shared space).

webos is all very well and good, but the lack of apps is a pita.

FYI, HP has released a webOS update, available OTA. Not sure if it's available in New Zealand yet (if there's a regional schedule release), but sure it is available in the US now.

There's a few over on the owners thread who have done the update.  So I'm guessing its available here in New Zealand.

Slightly off-topic but if you like the TouchPad you would probably like the HP Pre (like a Phone version of the TouchPad). I made a For Sale thread on here a few days ago.

Did anyone who had a Touchpad order in with MobiCity actually get it it in the end?  Are you still waiting?

Nope...Have a read here though for latest developments...I get the feeling they're going to offer us the Archos 101 as this was listed in their store yesterday. Too bad cause I'm not a fan of it's 16:9 look...

I suspected as much.    I'm pleased I didn't bother hanging on for one from MobiCity. From the time I canceled my order I hadn't heard much recently about the final production run of the Touchpads as I was no longer getting the updates from MobiCity.

I hope it works out well for those still waiting.  We are very happy with the Touchpad we ended up getting thru EBay.

As for a 16:9 screen there's pluses and minuses, however, for a tablet I think the more square screen like the Touchpad is probably better.

If you ordered from HP Small Business US then these units have shipped. My second 32GB unit is on the way to the UK now, which I will be gifting as an Xmas present to my girlfriend :)

I've still got my MobiCity order standing, contemplating cancelling it and trying my luck on eBay, or just putting it towards new camera hardware instead...
