yep! you can setup POI. you can also name it as well

I read somewhere someone said something about a 33MB NZ Maps. um...... anyone knwo about this?

For anyone who was still interested, the Expansys thing is rapidly becoming moot.

At trademe Parallel Imported is selling for $1399 buy now (1 year warranty, not much more expansive than N95 from expansys due to shipping charges), or $1300 from the guy I'm buying from if you're especially brave and are happy with only a manufacturers warranty. I'd expect the Parallel Imported price to drop on their website soon.

EDIT: Just phoned Parallel Imported, if you ask them the people instore will match the trademe price (otherwise they will sell it to you for the $1469 price!!!!).

I had a leading bid on one of parallel imported's N95 and I won the auction at $1400 thinking Ive got a good deal but today I see theyve put up new auctions with $1399 buynow and another $1 res auction . They seem to be dropping there price every other day.

Yea price is right but I have an issue with the colour . Just 2 hours before auction ending I got a reply to my question that they just have sand colour in stock at present. Have sent them an email lets see how it works out .

If you trawl around the net you'll see this confirmed in a number of places from actual N95 users who have had multiple handsets from different locations (lots of people with branded ones have returned them several times, and/or purchased them un-branded when they couldn't get a good branded one or needed VOiP).

Thanks, I would like to know though if it is made in china or Finland?

Not meaning to sound racist, but I would rather buy one from Finland than china.

Can't beat the burble of that American V8. Ohh yea!

Doesn't sound racist to me at all, just doesn't make any sense based on what appear to me to be the facts (may once have been true, but doesn't appear to stack up with the user experience to date).

Me, I'd rather have the one that comes with the screen protector, 1GB card, and leather case.

Its a matter of opinion really, so to each their own eh?

I just feel that, if you buy the phone that is made in the country that the company is based in, the phone has the possibility that it will be of a higher quality because the phones that are sold in Finland, will be made in Finland. I feel that because of this, there will be tighter quality control because Nokia will not want any slippage in quality because the Finnish people would feel that one of their own is letting them down.

I hope that makes sense to you. I couldn't really get it out of my head and on to paper easily so it doesn't read well.

Yeah, I totally get the idea, its just that it doesn't appear at all to be borne out in practice (at least not any more anyways, I have no idea about earlier).

But hey, thats your prerogative, its cool. No need to explain.

I'll have a shot at offering Parallel $1350, that way they still get slightly more than they would if selling via Trademe, and I save another 50 bucks.

Will see if I have any joy :)

*Edit - Pah, they're out of stock barring the ones already on Trademe :(

Hey, thanks. They are very nice photos.

I didn't know that the soft keys were coloured blue and that the start and end call buttons were coloured green and red. The photos that I have seen on the internet showed them as being uncoloured.

I like the way that they build up the suspense by the way that they package the phone. You open the box and you only have the phone shown against a black background. It makes getting the phone even more exciting.

No, no other problems. Only had one crash in the last two + weeks.

The maps contain about 80% of streets in Auckland I find. Have not looked elsewhere in NZ, why bother

Initial map download is indeed 5MB for NZ so I suggest via WiFi if you are on casual rates. I have heard also that the maps are to be updated but no timeframes yet, soon I hope!

OMFG this phone is amazing!!!! I'm loving it, just installed some beautiful Babi and Pasco themes. . . I love how it auto-configures the phone for the network AUTOMATICALLY! I have just had a message from Vodafone saying that my handset does not support Hotlink, so they have cut it off, LOL they tell me to change handsets! Will post photos etc tomorrow evening or Saturday!

It seems to take AGES for me to download the maps via Nokia's MapLoader. Is it normal?

Also, it appears the maps do not have street names for NZ. Only major motorways are named. :( Is this also normal? It's rather disappointing to be quite honest. I tried Australia, and they seem to have all the street names.
