a bit of a trend I have noticed in online gaming for pc atleast is that there is a lot of game servers with only 1 map, it's getting harder to find servers with actual map cycles. e.g. in battlefield 3 it's all "24/7 METRO" or "24/7 De_dust 2" or whatever. why are these servers so popular? do people like to just pick their favorite map and only play that? if you look down the server list you will find plenty of empty servers with full rotations but it's allways the 24/7 this map servers which are the most populated

sure there is some levels that may be better than others, but this seems to be limiting yourself to only a small portion of the game. dont people get sick of playing the same map over and over again?

Generally I prefer a map rotation (within a theme is nice.. so something like metro-seine crossing-grand bazaar) but I've been to some 24/7 servers in an attempt to get my last assignment done.  It needs a particular set of conditions that only occur on a few maps, so rather than have a shot 'once in a while'  at getting it, I'm trying to maximize my chances.
