Really disappointed MS didn't get the Kinect fully working before NZ release date. I have mine arriving tomorrow. Interesting launch event.

What doesn't work on Kinect here?

Do you mean the Xbox Oneguide for TV channels?

No, no sounds on the Kinect. No Skype, no voice commands.

Oh right. I'm pretty sure it's coming

My NZ accent works fine with my Xbox One, but my Microsoft Account is configured for US region

Perhaps I'll do the same. Seems a horrible thing to be missing at launch considering all the promo MS did on Kinect. Like you say it's coming..

nathan, can you change your account once it's setup to be in a different region or I need to create a new account (I am thinking of doing this anyway since I have one hotmail address and it's tied to me personally and work which isn't ideal).

Only problem is I'll lose my gaming records.

I always suffer with Voice recognition as I have a strong English accent but don't use the English settings - my machines always get configured as EN-NZ.  I have found the windows 8.1 voice recognition works well in dictation mode (I went through all of the learning) - but the command mode doesn't work at all for me and as much as I try, I cannot speak with an American accent.

What I think I might have to do is install the ENG-NZ language pack and then type my commands into Bing-Translate so it can pronounce them in Kiwi for me :)

And I can't log into xbox live. Lucky I downloaded the update on my new xone before the servers went down!

Looks like it's wider than just Xbox.com

Azure and outlook.com are also both inaccessable at present.

DNS problems.

Is working for me here in CHCH, just finished setting up my XB1. Only thing I cant get working at the moment is any form of TV guide. I have it connected to my Panasonic HD recorder and get a good picture - have not tried to control the HD recorder from the XB1 yet either.

Only issue I had was I needed to use the included High Speed HDMI cable to output to the TV. I had a good quality HDMI 1.4a cable but got a black screen, swapped them over and all ok.

On an aside, the courier left the box at my front door which is right beside the street and clearly visible to everyone so I was not really happy. The good thing was that the shipper (mighty ape) sent me an email as soon as it was delivered so I was able to go home and get it quite quickly.

Pretty sure there is absolutely zero support for TV devices outside of the US (and even then, only on limited cable networks)

If you're using the HDMI input, you will need to use the remote that came with your DVR/tuner etc to control the picture

Apparently you REALLY shouldn't use that.  MS has taken it down and issued warnings

Warning: reality may differ from above post
