I just had a go at playing SingStar for the first time in ages. 3 updates later apparently all the features like downloading music are disabled and you have to download Singstar Free in the PS3 store, then download all your paid content again. So more updates and I eventually find it. I can get into the overview of Singstar in the PS3 store, see the overview, but there's no way I can see to download it.

Anyone have any tips?

The PS3 has basically been a massive pain in the butt since I got it. Sony have no idea about user interfaces or making things easy for their customers. Plus the PS3 network is incredibly incredibly slow.

Isn't there like an immovable singstar listed under the games on the PS3? you should just be able to click on that and it should download. they retired all the old disc based games online capability as they pretty much made a new game to match the PS4 one that they made. you can still play the songs off your disc games once you have downloaded the base game. Is it connected via wifi or wired? wire it up if it isn't and is possible for you, it is much faster. the wireless on ps3/ps4 is useless.

Yes there are two Singstar entries under games. When you run either it says "we've disabled functions of the game you purchased, you need to bugger around on the Playstation store and download the free version then download your content again, we've disabled the store on the game you purchased". Or something to that effect.

It's wired, but that makes no difference in this case, the problem is they've said "hey go use this new online version" then in the online version there's no download button.

hmmm. that's weird. my only suggestion would be to try delete the two singstars under games, and then there should still be a singstar icon there. If you click on this it *should* download the latest version of the game. I can't test as I no longer have my PS3, just PS4.

I have PS3 and Singstar, I *think* with some downloaded content (though mainly we brought ps2 discs and did the disc swap thing).
I'll try to crank it out tomorrow and see if I get the same issues (we haven't used the ps3 or singstar for a while so it probably needs updating).
