Had an Xbox One for approx a year now, all working well until recently, it stopped responding to voice commands.
It just point blank ignores everyone. Camera appears to be working fine as it recognizes me when I walk into the lounge and logs me in.

Been through all the settings to ensure its set to correct region etc but still nothing.....

Only thing I can try is a factory reset of the Xbox - annoying but not left with much else to try :)

Anyone else had this issue ?

Also, anyone know if I do go ahead with a reset, what happens to my save games etc - are they stored in the cloud, or locally on the HDD ? (Havent looked into it)

TIA

Nope, can't say I've ever encountered this problem...  I've had instances where I've had to repeat my commands, but that's more due to my accent than an issue with the kinect I suspect..

I seem to recall there's a tool in the settings to calibrate the kinect?  Have you tried that?

Would've be interested to see what would happen if you were to factory reset.  I was close to doing that a month or so back when my USB digital tuner wouldn't scan properly...  But managed to avoid that as I found a work around.

Yeah been through all the setup etc again but no go.

Found that all save games etc are stored online against your Xbox login, so I shouldnt lose anything when I do the reset, which will be tonight when I get home.

Ah okay.  Well good luck with that.  Hope the factory reset works.

Do post an update and let me know if you get everything back after your factory reset.

(sigh) Found the issue.... after I reset the unit...... appears NZ is no longer supported for Kinect voice (again).
Had settings on NZ region since day one and it always worked.

Set to AU, and voice commands are working again.

Ah that sucks.. hate it when that happens, resetting without needing to.

So did all your apps and games and pins restore back to what you had pre-reset??

Set up sons new Xbox Kinect about 8 months ago. It had to be on AU then for it to work using voice, so it's not a new thing.

mine is set to NZ and working great, however it is a replacement, my original unit stopped responding a few months back, I logged a fault with Microsoft, sent it to Aussie and it was replaced with a new unit in a few days.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Perhaps your unit is set to AU?

I just double checked..

Language and location set to English/New Zealand
Time zone set to (UTC+12:00) Auckland, Wellington

There seems to be an issue with the cable connection into the Kinect unit on early models for Xbox One that causes these issues
