Looking to get the kids Disney Infinity Starter pack for Xmas, but little confused....  3.0 has just been released and the 1.0/2.0 characters are usable etc.... thats fine, but playsets are mentioned such as Star Wars, Inside Out etc.... what are these playsets, are they seperate  games (Like Skylander Giants, Spyros Adventures etc) , or are they all included on a single game disc or what.....  ? :)

TIA

The playsets are mission packs, like an expansion in a more traditional style game. You need the relevant 'base' game to play them, i.e. Infinity 3.0 for the Star Wars / Inside out ones, Infinity 2.0 for the Avengers etc. The playset comes with the mission piece (clear statue things) and usually 2 relevant characters - e.g. inside out comes with Joy & Anger & the play piece.

We have infinity 1.0 and got the starter pack. I find it is really good. We also got the cars characters and playset imo the playset is most important part, without it its just a canvas you can move around and use those characters but no missions or purpose.
