I enjoy battle type games.

I'm looking for one that allows troop units to be assigned to attack particular targets.

I find the limitations of games where units are deployed but then autonomously follow programmed rules frustrating.

I'm sure there are plenty but I'm, struggling to find any on the app store.

Ideally I would prefer a game that works in fight mode.

Fieldrunners style, tower defense? In those you defend rather than attack, but they can be fun.

Do you mean an RTS (real time strategy) game? If so google tells me Z: origins (nostalgia FTW) and Starfront Collision might be worth looking at.

I don't mind tower defense, as long as I can tell particular towers to attack particular enemy units.  It's illogical autonomous behaviour by my troop units that frustrates me.  E.g in Toy Soldiers artillery sometimes ignores tanks and shoots at foot soldiers.

An example of the type of game I have in mind is a dune one I used to play on PS.  You arrive at field, deploy units me them around set them on particular enemy units etc.

Thanks I'll try RTS as a search term - often getting the right search term is half the battle.
