Hi.

So I have a sort of embarrassing question.

I bought GTA V when it came out, on PS3 (I can't believe that GTA V was 6 years ago!!)

I also had in on PC much later on, I have some folders for it, but I obviously uninstalled it at some stage, but now I can't find out how to get it back. I can't unfortunately, find record of where I bought it, but I thought it might be sitting in Steam (which I am sure it was at some point).

What other gaming launchers could it have been on? I do recall some form of launcher, but I can't recall for the life of me which one it was.

GTA V uses the Rockstar Games Social Club launcher, maybe try resetting your password for that if you don't remember it

Not sure if it keeps track of activated products or anything

your activation code for your game is linked to the rock star social club , so you have to log on to the social club to play or even download the game, i know because my son forgot his log in to the social club and had to buy another copy to play.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Hmm, this is turning out to be a real PITA. Turns out I found a GTAV folder on my PC, and ran the launcher. It started the download of an 11GB Update, which it then installed, so I thought I was set. Then it wanted to run a 1GB Update, so I let it try and do that, except it won't install since it says the game, isn't installed. I downloaded and ran the social club app, but I can't find an executable anywhere on my PC and no shortcuts, so I can't work out how in the name of all that is holy how to do that!

I expected the Social Club to be a bit like Steam or Epic Games/ubi Launcher with my games available and I clicked download and it just installed again! No such luck.

Anyone have experience with that?

Hmm may have cracked it (Not that way). Logged into the Social Club Website and had a poke around. Found a link to a download of a 200MB File which is the GTA Setup File.

Downloading all the internet now!
