Hi guys, I was wondering if I could connect my xbox 360 (elite, if it makes any difference) to my computer, to play on it, using the computer screen. My computer has the following ports:
IR out
Audio In
S-Video
TV in
Audio Out
SPDIF
LAN
Usb Ports
And one port saying:
SD/MMC/SDHC
MS/PRO/xD

Any help at all would be highly appreciated.
Thanks very much

Have you read the FUG that you agreed to before posting?

If you have a TV/Video in, then in theory yes, you could plug your Xbox into your PC via that - but depending on the exact setup etc of your PC I wouldnt hold my breath for a great picture.

If you want to use your Xbox on a monitor, best to get a new monitor with HDMI.

You can use an HDMI -> DVI cable to plug into your monitor.

Not sure how you'd deal with the sound (I've seen some adapters to allow optical sound out whilst also using the HDMI out on XBox 360)

If you use your PC's TV-tuner's inputs, be prepared to expect screen lag.

Depend on which version of Xbox360 you got, the safest us VGA connection kit, and if you have HDMI, use as suggested above HDMI-DVI, and use the D-connector's stereo audio for sound output.

I'm using the VGA cable with mine. For sound, I use the included Y-adapter to connect the left/right sound to the line in on my computer, then redirect that to the speakers/headphones (on my Mac I use LineIn to accomplish that; I believe Windows has something built in).

Firstly, thanks everyone for your help.
I'm not sure if my computers got a DVA or VGA port, is there an adapter I can use for it to go onto one of my existing ports (listed in my first post)?
And I don't have a clue what to do about the sound :S
I considered buying a moniter for it on amazon, but the cost ?150 :S

After re-reading your specs... is it a laptop?

Which TouchSmart? TouchSmart 600 has inputs to use the screen as a... monitor. On the top left side of TouchSmart 600 should be an HDMI and Composite inputs (RCA, Y-W-R).

If it is TouchSmart 300, you're out of luck to use it as a monitor.

Ah, didn't realised you're from/in UK.

Okay the TouchSmart IQ series are older models, and only TouchSmart 600 have inputs. I hate to say this but you'd better off finding a cheap LCD TV or monitor.
