i just switched my broadband plan back to big time, can't stand the days without massive download... but then i can't update my ps3 games, online gaming gets really slow as well.
so i got a telecom t-stick, the usb type, but how do i get ps3 to use it accessing internet? when using t-stick on pc, i need to install a little program to connect to internet, of course i can't install things on ps3 that way, then...

Share your PC as ICS host anduse t-stick as the connection, and use LAN to connect your PC to PS3 (or if your PC has wifi, set up as adhoc connection to PS3 wifi).

Internet is my backyard...

Do you use Windows 7?

A bit more details on your PC may help.

Anyway, ICS (Internet connection sharing) - search the Windows help and it should guide you through the basic on how to get it up.

Be aware that, when you use t-stick to connect and use your PC as your ICS host, you need to unplug from your ADSL connection (LAN) - depends on how your ADSL router is set, either your pc be on static internal IP, or dynamic.

Connectify works by "exploiting" a feature that was left in Windows 7 which allow it to turn into WiFi HotSpot, so effectively a kind of ICS.

thanks for the explanation. yes i do use win7.
my computer currently connects to my wireless router using a usb adapter. do you mean that i need to unplug that (or simply disable it?), before i setup ICS?

i was trying to use my 3G phone as a modem for PS3 as well. i connected my phone via a usb cable, choose 'share interent' on my phone's screen (it's using wm6.5), then choose connect. it would work fine in this way for pc, but in ps3, i can't choose 'wired' (in ps3's internet connection setting) for internet, when choose 'wireless' i found a ssid without a name, with wep security and 100% signal strength, but i can't choose this ssid. ps3 keeps saying 'cannot connect to this ssid, either it's not avaliable or the ssid name i entered is wrong'...

maybe i should go to playstation website and suggest to make this kind of connection easier in next firmware update eh?

Your PS3 will either be a wired client or wireless client to a host.

so on your pc, share your WWAN connection to cellular data, then share that out over wired (ethernet) to your PS3, or use Connectify to share out over WiFi to your PS3.

BTW, to update firmware, you can download from website and put it in USB flash drive, easier...

hi Chiefie, i tried your suggestion, shared the cellular data connection over wired connection to PS3, it connected, but for some reason it's very unstable, after awhile it disconnected, saying DNS error, reconnect and then same thing happens again.

then tried Connectify, can't find the cellular WWAN connection in its list :( gave up

maybe it's just me being too dumb to figure out how this works...
