I imagine that most of you have played Portal, but if you haven't, now's your chance! It's free for a couple of weeks, and available from here.

Yup, and it works. If only I could move my 360 version of Orange Box over... but on the other hand I could probably sell it on Trade Me and buy the Steam version, and still make a profit :)

Played Portal when i brought the Orange box. Good game.

I should mention that another good game to grab off Steam is Aliens verus Predator 2000 Classic for $5 its the game that came out 10 or so yrs ago by Rebellion and was scary as hell when playing the Marine. Well they put out an updated version in Feb 2010 so todays computers can run it. Got this over the weekend Played through the marine campaign in realistic mode and it still scared the bejesus out of me like it did 10yrs ago. The fast aliens, creepy music from Alien movies and that damn motion tracker.   Has multiplayer but its still getting patched to bits.  I'm wondering if i should replay the Marine campaign this time in the Directors cut mode I bearly suvived the realistic mode. AVP1 is worth playing again. Classic!

Anandtech has an quick look article comparing Portal image quality and performance on Mac vs PC.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/3726/quick-look-mac-os-x-portal-performance

PC gamers can rest easy in feelings of superiority over Mac and console gamers for awhile longer it seems.

It's one of the shortest games ever - you will finish it in 3-4 hours.

But thoese  3-4 hours will be some of the best hours of gaming you have ever done.
