I have Black Ops on the PS3 and my NAT type is always set to strict. I can never join my friends games and I always get bad connections. I heard that by doing something called port fowarding, you can make Black Ops have an open NAT. Is there anyone out there who knows how to do this for Black Ops on the PS3?

Any help would be very appreiciated!

I have the Telecom Thomson Wireless router. So far I have tried some steps but have still failed. I created a static IP address for the PS3 and added it to the Thomson along with the PS3 ports of Black Ops but the NAT is still strict. I can´t figure out what I have done wrong.

This link was helping me with adding the PS3 Black Ops ports to my modem:

DO you have MW2?

I had the same problem and even after forwarding my ports it did  not resolve the issue.

I still have MW2 so was able to do the disc swap trick.

All you do is start MW2 and get all the way into choosing a gametype, your nat should say open down the bottom. Now eject the disc while it is in this screen and put in BOPs.

This works everytime for me and keeps my NAT open for about a week sometimes longer.

Yes I do have MW2 and I have been doing that. But doing that process is complete BS. Swapping discs to obtain open NAT is just damn annoying. Black Ops should permanently have Open NAT just like MW2 did... Damn Treyarch for this BS.

And I have tried to find out the cost of First Strike but I cannot get into the PSN Store. It keeps saying error. So I guess everyone is trying to download First Strike at the moment.

It's around $28NZD i think, i can't remember, I bought it last night

Then put the PS3 on download, opened it back up this morning...not even 10% done.  I wouldn't bother buying it for a few days, too many people are downloading it and clogging up the servers :(

I'm going to retry the download on Monday or Tuesday when people get back to work and school

Disregard my previous post...my wired ethernet fried itself in the cupboard, switched to wireless and the download took just a bit over 15 min :)
