We have a prehistoric Xbox original that I found in the garage.  Does anyone have any ideas for converting xboxs into anything?  I am pretty handy with a screwdriver and soldering iron so looking for a little project to escape the family :0 ahem.. I mean do something constructive.

I have soft-modded it already and XBMC installed but already have a media centre.  Surely all those whizz bangy parts could be utilised to create something even more whizz bangy?

Any suggestions welcomed - apart from suggestions involving "shoving" and body parts.

Thanks

Convert it into parts for other Xbox users...such as my self ;)

Could load it up with MAME games, make an arcade machine out of it :)

Thanks xpd for the reply.

I'm liking the arcade idea.  Takes me back to playing sega rally in the arcades, I wonder if there was a port for Xbox?

Hmmm steering wheel control, gear changer.. I have a 25in LCD screen gathering dust, might do some googling.

Cheers

Could make an RC car out of it :)

Instructables is a pretty good site - loads of mods on there for Xbox's of all types.

MAME is available for the XBox via XBMC installation, but pretty sure there will be dedicated front ends etc :)

That RC car idea is pretty nice.  I wonder who tried that idea first, I wonder who thought "I know, I might turn my xbox into an rc car"?
