Playing Weird west at the moment.
The Battlefield 6 open beta has started early access for those who either have BF Labs access, EA Play Pro subscription or linked their twitch to ea account and watched a twitch stream for 30min.
JPNZ:
Very late to the party.. PS Plus has Diablo IV for free so I DL the PS5 version last night. Got up to level 15 first night now playing co-op with my mate. 150Gb download though ughhh
57 Hours later and defeated Lilith and completed the main story with a little help from a friend. Now to fang around some co-op play and continue building my character.
Great game!

Recently finished Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, from the genius mind of Hideo Kojima - the Metal Gear guy. It’s an amazing game - similar to the original but superior in multiple ways.
As usual, I wrung the most I could out of its open world and completed 99+% of what was available. I don’t judge quality by the number of hours I spend on a game - but it was good enough to warrant 250 of them.
I know that some people here on GZ place little weight on sites like Metacritic - but IMO there are good reasons for its high rating there.
Now I’m off to buy Ghost of Yotei which has also earned very favourable reviews. It’s the sequel to the brilliant Ghost of Tsushima - which is one the best games I've played.

Wow been a while, my last comment was about the beta weekend. Now Battlefield 6 is releasing this weekend, unfortunately at 4am on Saturday. I know many are awaiting a new BF that is not as clumsy as the previous instalments.
Lots of PUBG lately with mates.... not really found a good m/player game for us to get into lately. Most are still early access and buggy......
So my playlist atm consists of :
Kingdoms and Castles
MEtal Storm
PUBG
Ticket To Ride
I picked up during the Steam sale but not really tried yet :
Oxygen not Included
Schedule I
Stardew Valley
Two Point Campus
Did get Outward as well, but got a refund on that.... was not how it read or as good as the reviews made out IMO.

The Beta seemed like a return toward form.
I actually liked V by the end, and then they just straight abandoned the factions and maps that were supposed to be released.
Sounds like they tightened up a lot of the issues I had with the 6 beta. But I just don’t know, Loved 1942 through to 4 and I think honestly I’m just not quick enough anymore! And don’t have the time. Though holding points for the team is a nice way to still play I guess.
Been playing a little Nightingale since it was free on Epic, but it’s a time sink. Still might be a good one to coop with my oldest. Just got to get him a pc, my MacBook isn’t cutting it for newer games anymore.
Otherwise strangely been into Stardew as a more chill game to coop recently.

I am finding all the modern FPS franchises are accomodating console style network interpolation and auto aim features.
Meaning that the feeling of getting fragged quicker than your ability to frag the other guy is more often because the other person is crossplay with a controller, has auto aim and is using a fast fire rate weapon which fires fast enough to stack a kill confirmed in fewer server ticks. CoD is very obvious, BF2042 had this too. I wouldn’t be surprised if BF6 has it to a certain extent.
About the only games not doing this is CSGO and valorant. But it sours the experience for any competitive mode on PC when companies like activision have patents around giving players who paid for cosmetics a handicap vs those who don’t and get matched with them to drive engagement.
I bought the Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II in the steam sale. I had them both on PS4 but not PC. I haven't played them for a few years so it was an easy buy.
I've played the Last of Us and about a third way through the Last of Us Part II. They are so pretty on PC (I don't have a PS5). I can get 45 FPS without upscaling on axed oyt settings and about 75 FPS with FSR on.
Part II isn't as tight a game as part I but it's still excellent.
Recently started Ghost of Yotei. Currently on Air NZ three hours out of Narita - going to do 3+ weeks of historical research to try and enhance my game experience. 😀

I’ve been playing euro trucker 2 for the last year. Driving a Scania at the moment.

I recently finished Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to 2020 award-winning Ghost of Tsushima - released only 2-3 months ago.
Totally brilliant game and better than its predecessor IMO - really loved it and one of the most enjoyable I’ve played in a long time. Beautifully made, rock-solid, really good story line, The weapons and combat are great and it has a cool mechanic for leveling-up skills. Set in the early 1600’s on Hokkaido, Japan. Although not the whole island is playable, the playable parts are open world. It can be played as a stealth game if you’re into that - which I am.
There's also huge amount in the game apart from the combat - peaceful stuff that I really enjoyed. I spent 120 hours on it doing literally everything and got Platinum in the trophies.
I'm now about to start Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - the August 2025 remake of 2004’s MGS3. I never played the original. I like the style of creator Hideo Kojima - he’s weird but a genius game-maker. It’s primarily a stealth game and I’m really looking forward to it.

I have started playing The Outer Worlds 2 on Series X.
Just finished the prologue chapter, so too early to say what I think of it.
I played the original game, The Outer Worlds, and liked it a lot.
Skies of Arcadia. A gamecube game from 2000 that i am playing on the Dolphin emulator, I have wanted to play this for years after reading reviews saying it was the best jrpg ever made. So far i am about 10 hours in in a 50 hour game and it reminds me of all the classic jrpg's that i played on the PS1 and i am really enjoying it.
Common sense is not as common as you think.
