really wanting a Blu ray player and other options, i have heard that a PS3 is the better choice.. i also take it it is able to play 3D movies too? Not that i have a 3D TV.. yet!!!
FLV has nothing to do with VLC, it's "FLash Video".
_sometimes_ you can just rename them to .M4V and they will play, otherwise you'll need to convert them to something else using WinFF or somesuch beforehand.
I've found that the PS3 will play pretty much any .AVI or .MP4/.M4V that you throw at it. OGM and MKV you can forget.
