I've not experienced anything of the type, but have you tried playing with lego to pass the time? Should be fairly simple, you can control the brightness with the lights in the room, and it can be pretty damn fun.

Had to go visit the radiologist on Tuesday I found out i have to spend 30 to 60 days getting Radiation treatment + Chemo as in the pills. The pills i was told are extremely expensive for the govt so had to sign a form that i am a patient. I will be staying to save traveling to Hamilton and back at the Waikato HOS Lodge from Mon to Friday, good news is other patients will be there, and there's a TV and internet access with laptops i am told. Yes im allowed to watch TV again. :-)

Bad news, the chemo treatment will mean fatigue and nauseated. With Radiation Hair loss, tho not a problem ive had number 1 haircuts for years might have to go with the Kojak look when its over ;-). And normal brain cells could be damaged.

I mention to the Radiologist why didnt they just take out both! the smaller one was not close to the larger one i probably wouldn't survived two holes in my head. !So they decided to take out the bad one first & leave the small one for radiation & chemo treatment. But what annoyed me they never told me about the small tumor on my brain. probably did not want to cause me to worry so i could recover faster. Here i was thinking i was cured.

Why the chemo pills when im having radiation instead. The radiation only take less than 5 min, much longer to map me up making sure they got the lasers on the tumor not the normal part of my brain. So then comes the chemo pills - kind of like the 2nd attack at the tumor. Then repeat next day. :-(

I can't wait for the day when my typing skillz goes from 1 finger to two!

Oh and due credit to St Johns who drove me to HOS and back again and will be dropping me off on Monday then picking me back up on Friday bringing me home as we go home on the weekends cause the Lodge is closed that time, then sending me back on Sunday. All Free of charge! Plus the driver putting up with having to drive at slow speeds (80 - 85km) as i suffer from Vertigo. Thanks Dave from Paeroa ST Johns.

they put me back on the dexamethasone tablets cause i told them my head feels like its in a vice most times. Feel really good last two days.

Firstly, very sorry to hear your news. I hope the chemo/radiotherapy is as tolerable as humanly possible and wish you all the best with your treatment and recovery.

Secondly, it is exceedingly odd that you were not told about the second tumour if they were aware of it at the time. That would be extraordinarily unusual practice, and I have never personally come across a treating team who were not explicitly clear about the extent of a cancer when it is confirmed.

During my stay at HOS after the OP i was very grumpy and worried and moaning about them losing of my glasses, maybe telling me about a 2nd tumor might of just made me worse. Then another thing happen out of nowhere i get a phone call at home from HOS letting me know they will compensate me for the loss of my eye glasses. Paranoia set in... maybe they have just found out about something more serious about me and want to make things right. couple of days later i got rang up to see the radiologist.

3rdly When at Thames HOS and was told about the tumor I ask the doctor after the ICT scan results so i have a brain tumor? Nothing else? She couldn't look me in the eye when she said yes, & we will be sending you to Waikato HOS. Paranoia set in again No meds taken at that time i might add compared to the previous times.

Haveing said all the above getting answers out of the doctors and surgeons was like getting blood out of stone, And still they held back with the truth. :- /

Anyway i actually knew i had another tumor before they told me. I just needed them to confirm it first. Once you know what a tumor can do to you, how you act or think yet those issues are still there even after the tumor is taken out. You just know there is another. A tumor can do funny things to your personality IMHO. Tho i wasn't expecting the brain more my kidneys, ( had kidney problems in the past) or some other organ. But not the brain they already got rid of that one! Tui.

The big day tomorrow. Has anyone ever spent time at Waikato Hospital Lodge units? Not 100% sure they will have internet access or TV. Just heard they do but Neva seen it fior myself.

Got me meds packed, couple of novels, ph charger. now freaking out a bit about havin to head there. Well i dont really have a choice i keep telling myself!

Well i got the days wrong didn'y i LMAO!

Did the big clean up, packed the bags and medication, so it was hitting nearly midnight by the time i finished. Son txt me to say he has to work late till 1 or 2 am the latest! Because he always misplaces our house key, i stay up and wait for him to get home to unlock the door.
He gets home just after 1am by that time i am annoyed and say to him "Do You realize i have to go to the hospital Monday morning couldn't you tell yur boss Dad is up to wait for me & has to go early in the morning Don't bosses these day have any bloody consideration for others! now im going to only have 7-8 hrs sleep!

Dad relax its Sunday!.. It is? Yeah you have another day to go. Oh okay, my bad

Man hes probably relieved im going away for some days give him a break! So now at least i can relax and so can he.

Laast update for awhile
the name of this type tumor is called Glaoilblastoma its an aggressive one , so meaning 6wks treatment. stuff that, i was suppose to go in today see him in person and we start, but im not in the mood to be honest. I need time to think.

Alternative medicines anyone know bout this? Ive heard of the wonder B17 vitamin anti cancer drug that supposedly can cured all form of cancer, bad news is its Banned in the USA the FDA do not want to spend funds on testing it as it could cost them millions, my guess is if this drug does work the FDA & Pharmacy' would be out of business. In Mexico B17 is not banned. but cancer patients have to be there to be treated i presume. And its probably not cheap.

Will stick with the radiation and chemo combined try and handle it for 6wks then see how i go. Im willing to try anything now that i know its an aggressive tumor

it gets.

Don't make decisions when in bad mood. Scientific treatment may or may not work. No treatment definitely will not work. Complementary treatment ids to complement not as sole.I suggest get your treatment today.

Think about other stuff later.

Yea i went striaght to google and read up about it, doesn't sound too good either But i cancelled my appointment with my oncologist today and was suppose to start treatment same day. Otherwise i miss out till after Easter cause that's when he gets back. : -/ Should of went now that i read yur post.

Well he just rang back few minutes ago, going to try book me back in for early next week providing another Oncologist is willing to take me on while he is on his break. He was fine that i wanted a few days off which i wanted, not up to easter though i thought his wkend was Easter

so wanted to spend Easter with friends and my sons before i go in. And according to my sisters i will not be dead in couple of weeks (philip Leshman anyone) blah blah, blah my sisters the so called Tumor experts got it wrong twice now (there is no other tumor in you your dreaming) i no longer believe what they tell me. And i am as stubborn as an ox the more they try and drum into me i should go the more i dont want to.

Anyway i could be bck n getting treatment early next week actually do feel a bit relieved as i might of been put on a LONG WAITING LIST!

:-) woo hoo got a whole weekend to browse the net an catch up on dvds which im allowed to do now.

Drongo moment #2 I get an appointment at the GP for the Friday 19th, i then ring back up asking isn't that day Good Friday meaning the Centre is closed? She told me Easter Friday is 29th March not 19th...

Crazy. :-[

I just can't wait to go now, internet available WiFi and sky, i can choose either the suite or single, like a five star living conditions.
