in terms of gaming - i am not too sure. i actually used the have the same cpu as you, but had an 8800gt and went from there to a gtx660 with i7... and ssd..so i saw massive jumps in everything..

but you will experience less delays obv. you will be able to run more software simultaneously as well

but ya, mostly reducing lags from pretty much everywhere.
