HI Guys

Here's a video of it working over here. Excuse the quality, i was playing with a new capture card and some editing things.

The link isnt public yet, its unlisted, only i was sure about showing stuff that's recorded from TV and yes im aware this is public, it just not searchable.

I just set region to UK, and plugged it in a set it up using UK postcode etc, standard searching for channels, ive been using it for a few weeks now, well not that i watch that much aired TV

This is pretty much the same as my experience. Watching TV works, but lacking EPG.

Just a precaution: the cause with this kind of setup however is that setting the region to any other country that you're in changes digital content available to you, specifically Xbox content. This isn't really a problem if you just change the region, the real problem comes down to purchasing Xbox content whether it's movies, music, or games. You may actually purchase content from another country, provided that your credit/debit card/paypal address is issued from the country that you're trying to purchase the content from. If you do so otherwise purchase a content from Xbox with a different country of origin, there is a chance that it will put your account at risk, and could lead to permaban due to 'fraudulent activities' (majority due to tax evasion). The only workaround if you want to get a working Xbox One TV, and you live in AU/NZ, is to change your region before you purchase any content from Xbox store.

I suspect the reason we don't have a working tuner from Microsoft is that they probably don't have an agreement with all of the broadcasters around EPG support. Unless someone in MS NZ picks up the initiative and follows it through, it will probably be way down on the list on Xbox things to happen. That's just my thoughts.

I've moved my console between regions loads of times and never had anything happen even when using my nz card to buy off the us xbox store. I never could get it working from Russia but UK and aus have also worked fine.

Yeh I switch regions on my console all the time, depending what content I'm after, when you do jump regions from the uk to nz or wherever and back again you do have to quickly run through the setup again for the tuner, you don't have to rescan or anything just basically click 'next' lots of times as it already saved the original settings.

I actually have my account blocked for the first time, so I was just saying that as precaution for everyone who would want to use their account with another region set to get content not available in their country. Below is from Xbox Support.

"The reason why a block is found on the account is due to the different region on the account. The system is designed to create a block when it detects 'fraudulent activities', regardless if it is the account owner. I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing, our system is designed to follow international trade laws and licensing restrictions. Much like how we are prohibited from selling and shipping licensed material and content outside of the region that product is licensed for, digital content is no exception. This is why it is highly advised that you create a new account or migrate your current account to your current physical region if you will be staying there for an extended period. From there you will be able to access the marketplace for your current physical region."

Luckily tho they gave me a one-time unblock on my account for me to migrate to NZ from US. Mind that I've lived in the US for so long and made my account there (coming from Yahoo!), and at the time the option to migrate regions on Xbox accounts was non-existent. So, lesson learned.

Ah, changing regions on the Xbox console to get the tuner to work, is somewhat different to changing your actual account region, that's where you have run into trouble.

Windows Central is saying the TV tuner is coming to Straya in March with the OneGuide in the latest preview build. Need to check my preview build tonight to see if the OneGuide is in for NZ.....
