This is what I believe to be the best bang for buck at the $1500ish price point. Cheapest quad-core i5, will perform better in games than the AMD chip, cheaper H81 mobo you won't need z97 since you won't be overclocking a non K cpu anyway. An ssd was thrown in as well as choosing a cheaper case and a much more powerful GPU.

That is a pretty good build!

Personally, I would go for at least an H97 motherboard - about another $50. I just don't like 2 RAM slot motherboards:).

The next step up from that GPU would be a Nvidia GTX970.

With the non-k (locked) core i5's.. There isn't that much difference between them. e.g. a 4430 is pretty much same as 4460.
