richms:

Im more interested in if the patching will make unacceptably chuggy 30FPS games run at a more acceptable framerate than the additional resolution. FPS will always be > than pixels to me.

Based on what I've read about Tomb Raider, yes. THe difference is "night and day"

Apparently, with PS4Pro and PSVR, the pre-rendering process will be better for when downscaling to PSVR's 2x960x1080 as oppose to PS4.

But for myself, I will keep my current PS4 (original) even when-if I can get myself a PSVR when circumstance allowed.

Im still waiting on a demo psvr before I will even consider getting one. I have bought a cheap android VR that I cant seem to focus and gives me sore eyes for hours after even a couple of mins with it on. I tried an occulus DK2 and that was tollerable, so dont want to buy something that will have me ripping it off my head going "EWW NO YUCK MY EYES THEY BURN" like the auravision I was stupidenough to do an indiegogo for.

Wonder where I can see a PS4 and PS4 pro side by side for real life game play and a VR as well.

I have PSVR and it's awesome.  Definitely worth the purchase if you already have a PS4.

From everything I've read PS4 Pro games look fantastic on a 4k TV even though very few games are actually rendered at 4k.  Reports also suggest there is very little improvement in PSVR games that have been patched for the Pro but there is hope this will change over time.  I intended to buy a Ps4 Pro for my PSVR but I think I'll hold off until more VR games arrive that take advantage of the Pro's additional power.

I'm going to pop into JB and NL tomorrow and see if they have any Pro's setup.

It's interesting how there are games on PS4 Pro running worse than the standard PS4 model while targeting 60fps. I'll stick with my PS4.
