i'm so conflicted about picking one up. In one way it is the device that I have always wanted a iPad with attached physical controls.
On the other hand though from all reports it's under powered(one of my biggest problems with the 3DS which I brought day 1) Frame rate drops and zelda cannot even output in 1080p.
Then you come to the fact that game saves are locked to the console and there is no way to transfer saves to another console and no online game backups incase your save corrupts your console gets nicked or just breaks. And the whole online suff so far looks to be more of same and not something actually useful.
Nintendo are certainly known for compromised first releases(game boy advanced front light) that they then make good but the 3DS suffered throughout it's life even after a processor bump in latter models by games that where limited by the hardware(Pokemon and 3d and the amount of games that actually made use of the nub) Is the switch going to be like this? It's hard to say but after being burnt by day one 3DS day one switch is not something I really want to do.
Will I pick one up. Most likely I have always had a love of nintendo content but if its another case of the games being let down by the hardware the it gets harder to justify particularly when its in the same price range as a PS4.
